Monday I talked Kitana into letting me stay home so I could try to get some information on what happened Friday night. She agreed and after she left I went in the woods and demorphed, and ate, then I went into my Bald Eagle morph. Some how I had to find out what really happened Friday night, but I still wasn�t sure how I was going to do it. I knew all the Yeerk hang outs and I checked them all to see if there was anything special going on. It didn�t surprise me when I couldn�t find anything, but hey it was a good try.
Tuesday I went to school hoping to find some answers to most of my questions, like what were the Yeerks looking for and had they found it yet. I know all the Controllers in the school and I tried to read their minds, but the ones that I tried had no idea what was going on, they just knew that Visser three was very unhappy. I knew of one Controller at the school that would know what was going on, Chapman. He was there at the site that night.
So at lunch I tried him, and got some interesting info. I found the answers that I was looking for and then some. The Yeerks didn't find what they were looking for and we were right they were other Andalites, they had also attacked the Yeerk pool that is under the town last night. We've done that before, I guess that they found another entrance that we couldn't find.
"So that's what they were looking for." I said not realizing that I said it out loud.
"Who was looking for who?" A familiar voice said. I looked back very quick and almost fell of the chair. There standing behind me were my friends Marco and Heather. Marco and I been friends for four years almost five. Marco is defiantly not a guy you could call tall. He's very short, like my human morph, we are both 5 even, but I guess if you like short dark guys with black hair and black eyes, and dark skin, he could be cute. Maybe some poor girl that thinks that way. Heather is just an inch taller than Marco and I. Heather and I have been friends for about there years. She is different than Marco, she is more serous. Heather is like me, she is also a telepath.
He was standing there with a really goofy grin, I guess he saw that I almost fell out of my chair.
Heather sat down, and started to eat, her next class was pretty far away from the lunchroom so she had to hurry to eat before the bell rang.
"Hey you weren't reading Chapman�s mind for test answers again were you? And if you were would share them with me this time?" Marco said in a low whisper, he knows that we are telepaths. Heather grinned at Marco, and shook her head.
"Of course I would the only reason I didn't last time is because you don't have that class." I told him.
"So, who were you talking to?" Marco said looking around.
"My new imaginary friend." I said pointing to the empty chair that Marco sits in at lunch.
"Well can you tell it to move it is in my spot." He said sitting down in his seat.
"Hey where were you yesterday you missed a history test." Marco asked me once he sat down.
"I what!! Oh man I forgot about it! We can make it up right?"
"Yeah, and It's easy. Really, even for you." Marco said and started to laugh like he said something funny. History is not my best subjects on this planet, too many dates and things to remember.
"HA HA, very funny, Marco." I said dryly
"Yeah I thought so any way. Hey how about I come over today and I'll help you study, the make up is tomorrow, we are doing something else today in history."
"Ok, meet me in the woods behind my house, its quieter there and I want to get some fresh air any way." I told him while trying to eat the school food. I don't know why they even call it food, it tastes completely different from the human food that we eat at the house.
"BBBBBRRRRIIIIINNNNNGGGGG" that was the bell telling us that lunch was over. Heather hurried up and put her tray in the trash.
�Well, I�ll see you guys later, I have to run to my class.� Heather said and started to run to her class.
"Oh well I was done trying to eat this stuff any way. What was this suppose to be any way?"
"You did not know what it was and you were eating it? Celeste, Celeste, I will have to teach you more about America, you have to first find out what you are going to eat then you eat it. It�s not like Japan where every thing is rice or fish." Then he added, "Hey is it ok if I bring Jake with me, he had to help me with some thing and he may remember it better than I will."
"Yeah, bring him." I told him as I got up to throw my stuff away. "See you later, Marco."
�See you later Celeste.� Marco said and went his own way to his class.
I went to the rest of my classes pretty well. The odd thing was I didn't see one other of my friends, Tobias. He usually doesn't miss a day. Oh well that was something else to ask Marco or Jake when I see them later.
I was very happy when school let out. I walked home, Kitana walks with me some times, but today she had a meeting with some kid's parents. There was a fight during her forth period class, and the one that started it is in a lot of trouble.
I got home to see Jammie sitting on the couch watching TV.
"What are you watching now? you know this much TV can't be good for you." I told her. She was watching some cartoon I didn't know which one yet.
"I'm watching Batman Beyond. you know the new one where Bruce Wane is an old man and the younger boy takes over as batman." She said finally looking at me. "Hey, where is Kitana?"
"She had a meeting after school, she will be back soon. Some kid started a big fight in her forth hour class and she had to go to the meeting Chapman is having with his parents. I'm going outside I need to demorph and eat. The school lunch was mystery lunch again." I told her rolling my eyes, "School lunch is always mystery food, you never what you are really trying to eat." I added, then headed out side. I did need to demorph, in a morph you only have two hours, and I did need to eat.
I went back to my true self, which looks like any male Andalite. We look like blue centaurs with no mouth and a tail that has a blade that the end, and two extra eyes that set on stalks on top of our heads so we can look in any direction at once. Females look basically the same the only difference is they are purple and have littler tail blades.
I hurried up and ate, I didn't know when Marco and Jake was getting here so I had to hurry. I hurried up and ate and remorphed to my human morph. Couple minutes later Marco and Jake came out to the part of the woods I was at. We got most of the history done and they had to go back home to eat so I headed home as well.
After Marco and Jake left I demorphed and remorphed to my Eagle. When I got close landed in the back yard in the shadows and demorphed then remorphed to my human morph, and walked into the house.
It didn't smell like anyone was cocking any thing. Jammie was not watching TV. like she was when I left, I didn't hear anyone.
"Allaran is that you?" I heard Kitana yell from the back room.
"Yeah, its me, what's for supper?" I yelled while I walked down the hall. When I got to Kitana's room I opened the door and peered in.
"Well, I was thinking McDonald's, no one really feels like cooking tonight." Kitana said getting up from the bed.
"That is cool, I don't either." I said
"Well, are you ready to go?" James asked.
"Yeah." Kitana said walking out the door, we followed her into the car, and James drove us all to McDonald's.
We were just talking about stuff that happened at school and work, you know the normal stuff. When we got there we ordered our food and just had a good time talking and just relaxing. After we was all done we went back home.
When we got home we all demorphed and remorphed to our human morphs, I looked at the clock in the kitchen and saw it was almost 8:00.
"Marco should be here soon." I said to no one really, but Jammie started to laugh.
"What is so funny?" I asked her but she was lashing so hard I had to wait till she stopped laughing, then she said, "You and Marco have a date or something?"
"That's it you are dead!" I said jokingly getting ready to get her in a headlock, but before I could move I heard a very loud motor in the distance, and it sounded like it was coming closer.
I ran to the window, and saw a UPS truck parked not far away from our house. Something wasn�t right, they don�t deliver at this time of night. I quickly read the minds of the two men that were in the truck, and got the answer I really didn�t want right at that moment. They were indeed controllers, which meant the Yeerks knew where we lived. Then out of the back jumped out some Hork-Bajirs.
�OH CRAP!!� I looked besides me and Jorna was standing there demorphed so I started to do the same, I was ready for anything the Yeerks could throw at me. Jorna looked at me and shock her head.
~NO, just go. I�ll be out in a sec.~ I shock my head.
�I�m not leaving you here!� I told her with my hands on my hips, she just stud there just as defiantly and twitched her tail.
~GO NOW!!!~ She yelled and twitched her tail again, I reversed the demorph and ran out the back door, looking back every once and a while, hoping that Jorna would come out of the house.
When I reached the forest I demorphed, and ran to where I knew James and Jammie would be at and there stood James. I couldn�t see Jammie, I guessed that she was in the cabin.
�Where is Jorna?� James asked as soon as he saw me walking up to where he was standing. I shook my head.
~I don�t know, she...~ I dropped my main and stalk eyes to look at the ground unable to tell him what happened between Jorna and I.
�She what?� James pressed. I still couldn�t answer him, Jorna against the Yeerks... her chances of getting out alive would be slim, and I had just left her there. If she was dead it was my fault.
�Allaran. Tell me. What happened in the house after we left out the back.� I couldn�t looked at James. I really didn�t want to tell him that I left her, that she had made me go.
~You really want to know?~ I asked James, looking at him with my stalk eyes. He looked at me, and nodded his head.
~Okay I�ll tell you. After you two got out she demorphed, when I started to do the same, she told me to go. We argued for a bit and she forced me out. She threatened to use her tail on me if I didn�t go.~ I looked at him with all my eyes now. ~I left okay! Is that what you wanted to hear?~ James shook his head, looked at me for a second and turned back to the cabin, then went inside.
I started to head back to the house, I wanted to see what happened to Jorna and if there was anything I could to help her. Before I got too close I morphed my human form. When I did get close enough to see the house I could see that I wouldn�t be alone in looking for answers.
The house was swarming with police, I didn�t know if they were controllers or not, and at that moment I didn�t care. I walked up the steeps of the porch that James and I had built after we put the trailer in the park that we lived, or used to live. It was in really bad shape, the roof of it was laying in the yard, along with every thing that used to be on the porch. I looked where the front door would have been and saw that it too was gone, but all that damage was nothing compared to what the house its self looked like. I went inside the house and found that the whole place had been torn upside-down, the couch had been cut to shreds, the hardwood floor was badly cut up with what looked like the talons of a Hork-Bajir, the walls were cut in places as well.
Soon one of the police officers came over to where I was standing.
�I�m sorry miss, but you can�t come in here.� I just looked at him, I didn�t want to mess with cops.
�Well why not? I live here, you want to try to keep me out of my own house?� I said harshly. For a minute he looked at me like he was going to try but thought better of it and let me by him. I was glad he did, for his sake, I was already in a bad mood, now I was really in a fowl mood.
I continued to look around, to find any trace telling me that Jorna could still be alive. What I did find wasn�t at all comforting. I found some bluish black liquid, Andalite blood, either Jorna�s or the Visser�s.
I looked away from the blood and continued to look around for anything I could salvage from the house and take to the cabin. I went to see what shape my computer was in, I had it in the living room so I didn�t really think it would work, but I looked at it any way. I went over to where the computer was, the monitor was broken, but when I turned on the computer it started to boot up.
�Hey Celeste!� I looked to where I had heard someone call my name and there stood Marco, with the same police officer that had talked to me. I walked over to where they were standing.
�Hey can you tell this guy that I know you, he won�t let me inside.� Marco said looking at the guy. I nodded my head, and turned towards the cop.
�Yeah, he can come in. We were going to study for a test... but I don�t think I have to worry about that now.� Marco looked around and whistled.
�Wow, what happened here?� Marco asked.
�I don�t know, James, Jammie and I were out at the cabin.� I told him after the cop left.
�Oh? Where was Kitana?�
�I don�t know, I hope she was on her way back to the cabin when this happened, she went to get something from the house that we had forgotten, we were having a picnic out at the cabin.�
�Yeah its a nice night for that stuff hua?�
�Yeah that and I found out its safe for me to return to Japan, I�m leaving the end of this week.�
�OH, I see. How come you didn�t tell me when Jake and I came to help with the test?�
�Because I didn�t know till I came back. Kitana gets the mail and when she came home from the meeting she told me. We went to the cabin, but we had forgotten something, so Kitana went back to get what we forgot. When she didn�t come back we started to worry. I came to see what was taking her.� I told him while I was looking around the room. Marco and I continued to look around and find some things that I was going to take to the cabin, like clothing and the important things, I could always come back for the other stuff.
After Marco and I got some of our stuff out I headed back to the cabin and went strait back to my room to think and finally fell asleep.
