| Our Goat Island Trip! On Sunday the 8th of April Camel, Bananna, SlickChick, RoseRed, NutellaChick, Pixzee, Busby and AG set off to Goat Island for the investiture of Bananna and Camel. We all had an early start of 5:00 and it wasnt long before we were on our way, watching Ever After on our flash bus! We stopped off at Omaha for Camels investiture on the bridge. It was pretty watching the sunrise behind us and we got some pretty amazing views of the sea from there. Camel said her promise and got her enrolment badge, a few of her interest badges and of course AG's trademark, the beaded Woozle and Ranger doll. We got to Goat Island at about 8:30 and we were straight down to the water. The coldness was overwhelming at first but we all soon got used to it. The fish were amazing, especially the Blue Maomao and the Snapper. The water was lovely and clear so it was very easy to see the fish. After looking around in the shallow for a while, we ventured a bit deeper and around the rocks. We went through a long tunnel like gap into the shore and saw millions of fish and interesting rocks at the bottom. We stopped for a snack of yummy soup and planned what we were going to do next. We decided to head out to the actual island for Banannas investiture.... |

| We made our way over to the Island and as it got deeper, there seemed to be a lot less fish, although that may have had something to do with AG chasing them all away! We got over to the island and had Banannas investiture, pinning her badge onto her wetsuit! On our way back we went through the rock tunnel again and it was even more amazing than the last time because some of went back because they were cold and there wasnt as many of us to scare them away! After our delicious lunch of American hotdogs, we set off for Tawharanui to have a look at where we will be camping next week. It looked like a really nice camp and there were plenty of places to set up our campsite. We also found a place to set up our waterslide. We had a look at the beach and everybody was really excited about coming back next week. We stopped for afternoon tea and then headed back to Auckland, this time watching brave heart on our flash bus! On our way past Orewa we saw a huge jumping castle and of course we all had to have a go! It was so much fun who says were too old for jumping castles?! By that time we had missed all the traffic and had a smooth drive home. What an awesome day!!! A big thank you to AG and Busby for all their hard work in organising this trip and to Busby for the bus ride. Bananna |
