| This was my first truly custom gun. I had wanted something bigger for some time, and I decided to make one with a five-foot barrel, but I figured that it would be too unweildy to be manageable. Taking a cue from the military, I built it with a shoulder stock and handgrips. While still unweildy, it is man-portable and can be operated by one person. | |||||||||

| The gun has a 1.5" barrel surrounded by a 2" shroud. There are four T fittings in the shroud which accomodate the wooden accessories. The stock and handles were cut from a pine 2x8 and rounded down as needed. A BBQ igniter is mounted in the rear handgrip and is operated with the index finger just like a firearm trigger. Someday I'm going to chrono this one to get an idea of how far it shoots. I've never been able to range the thing because of the high muzzle velocity and small (hard to see) projectiles. When shot at a 45 degree angle with a good fuel mix, observers not standing directly behind the gun never see the spuds at all, and for anyone who does spot them, they dissapear before they start descending again. 4/2/04 I finally around to putting a stun-gun on this bad boy. I robbed the handgrip off my Mark II to do it, but it was well worth it. Hopefully I'll have some photos of this one up soon. |
