AWARDS/DISTINCTIONS

A. INTERNATIONAL:

1. Awarded the Third World Academy of Science (TWAS) Prize for the year of

2006 in the field of Physics by the TWAS, Trieste, Italy.

2. Awarded the Young Physicist Medal and Certificate for the year of 2000 by

the ITCPP, the AS-ICTP Trieste, Italy.

3. Awarded the Alexander von Humboldt Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship to

carry out the advanced research at Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Germany.

4. Awarded the Alexander von Humboldt Long-Term Research Fellowship to

conduct innovative research at Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Germany.

5. Awarded the Max Planck Research Fellowship to carry out the advanced

research in Dusty Plasmas at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Germany.

6. Awarded the Commonwealth Scholarship by its Commission in London to

study for the degree of Ph. D. at University of St. Andrews, UK.

B. NATIONAL:

7. Awarded the Bangladesh Academy of Science Gold Medal (junior group) for

the year of 2004 in Physical Sciences.

8. Awarded the Best Scientist (under age of 35) of Bangladesh for the year
1992 by the Bangladesh Association for the Advancement of Science .

9. Awarded the Best Student of Jahangirnagar University (on the basis of all

academic records), and given the opportunity to represent Bangladesh at

the International Youth Village Programme-1989 held in Japan.

10. Awarded the Talent-Pool Scholarship by the University Grants Commission

for an extra-ordinary result in B. Sc. (Hons.) Examination of 1986.
