Name: Toltiir
Class: Elder
Portfolio:
Mischief, The Lighter Side Of Chaos, Wishes, Pratfalls, Misteps, Luck
Background: Toltiir has been around for 950 billion years. Roughly. He has gone by many names to many people, and wore many guises. To some he has been Robin Goodfellow or Puck, to others the Rigellian Bekein, to others Coyote or The Trickster. He is sometimes malicious, but this is rare. He was once a god purely of Chaos, but found that boring. Capricious humor has been his style for the bulk of his life.
Alignment: CN(G) in AD&D terms, in Rifts - Anarchist
Cleric's Path: Spread humor, for it can lay low the mightiest monarch or make the burdens of life easier to bear. No matter the situation, a jest is the best answer for a problem. Little is to be taken completely seriously, for to do so you miss the point.
Cleric's Benefits: Immunity from curses. (Unless the result would be funny, in which case one can be certain that the curse will last until it is no longer funny.)
Cleric's Hindrances: People tend to be skeptical of priests of Toltiir. They're good for parties, but can't be taken seriously by anyone.
Opposed by: Surtag, Ankoku, Warnas, Borune, Hevrig (all to varying degrees)
Favored Appearance: most often appears as a black cat with a plaid collar.
Note: Toltiir appears out of sequence due to his familiarity to those reading his chronicles.

Name: Borune
Class: Elder
Portfolio: Creation, Building
Background: one of the Elders like Toltiir. Borune has gone by many names as well, though he/she is less communicative about his/her past. Borune is also known as the Worldsmith to the dwarves, who depict him as male. Borune is often referred to as the Starforge by the elves, who depict her as female.
Alignment: LG(L)
Cleric's Path: To build is harder than to destroy, but is the more worthy path. Sometimes you must destroy in order to create anew.
Cleric's Benefits: +2 to all proficiency checks regarding construction. All Gold Temples are functioning Crafthalls as well.
Cleric's Hindrances: Level gains require the creation of works of art, equal in gp value x 100 to the level gained.
Opposed by: the Destroyer
Favored Appearance: glowing hammer

Name: Etragar
Class: Major
Portfolio: Beneficial Nature, Spring, Healing
Background: one of the gods born during the Age Of Chaos that seperated the First Age Of Man from the Second Age.
Alignment: NG(G)
Cleric's Path: spread healing and do good works, regardless of the law. Do not seek to spite the law for its own sake, for there are sometimes reasons for it, but seek to bring the greatest good to the greatest number. But this, above all else: do no harm if you are able.
Cleric's Benefits: Maximum potential from all healing spells.
Cleric's Hindrances: no armor save magical protections (bracers, rods, rings), and no weapons save the staff and simple variants (cane, rod, etc) of it. Vow of poverty, vow of chastity, vow of charity. Due to these, the Cleric may only carry one magical item of protection, one of offense, and no more than three miscellanious items.
Opposed by: the Devouring Void
Favored Appearance: a glowing circle or cross (ancient human healing symbol)

Name: Genmak (the Devouring Void)
Class: Elder
Portfolio: Entropy
Background: one of the Elders. Genmak has gone through many lives and many names, and goes through cycles of insanity. For it hates itself as much as it hates all that exists. Genmak has killed itself numerous times, only to reform again .
Alignment: NE(E)
Cleric's Path: Death is the only constant, the only truth, the only peace.
Cleric's Benefits: Wounds cast by magic from Genmak priests are similar to those caused by a Sword Of Wounding - no magic or magical effect can heal them, only time.
Cleric's Hindrances: Death is eternal for the priests of Genmak, once dead they can never be raised.
Opposed by: Just about everyone. Etragar and Hoshime in particular.
Favored Appearance: black mist

Name: Hevrig (Binder)
Class: Major
Portfolio: Law
Background: an AI at the heart of the experiment that created the Time Of Chaos, it underwent apotheosis at that time.
Alignment: LN(L)
Cleric's Path: All that is can be defined within rules. Good and Evil are inconsequential compared to Law.
Cleric's Benefits: Clerics are able to detect lie at all times.
Cleric's Hindrances: Clerics are unable to lie.
Opposed by: No one in particular
Favored Appearance: an open book

Name: Hoshime
Class: Lesser

Background: a human warrior who fell in a noble cause in the Second Age in the service of Etragar. She was apotheosized to become Etragar's wife and became the goddess of defense thereafter.
Alignment: LG(G)
Cleric's Path: To protect those who need it, to stop evil where it threatens.
Cleric's Benefits: automatic proficiency with one martial weapon (swords are usually chosen).
Cleric's Hindrances: must marry before reaching the higher ranks (8th+). Frequently called on to be warders for the priesthood of Etragar.
Opposed by: the Devouring Void
Favored Appearance: a woman's eye, in which can be seen a starfield.

Name: Surtag (Suratagus)
Class: Major
Portfolio: Destruction, Ruin, Hate
Background: During the Time Of Chaos, was born from a fragment of Genmar.
Alignment: CE(C)
Cleric's Path: For there to be life, there must be death, for every creation, there must be destruction. Only through destruction can there be enlightenment.
Cleric's Benefits: Clerics of the Destroyer can cast any fire spell as if they were two levels higher for purposes of damage, range, or duration.
Cleric's Hindrances: Most are looked at askance at the very least. Clerics of the Destroyer must sacrifice something most precious to them in order to attain name rank (10th).
Opposed by: Smith-priests of Borune
Favored Appearance: skull wreathed in flames.
