Mammano family - History

Salvatore Came from a family of 3 brothers: Alfonso, Michael, and Pasquale, and one sister.

While living in Sicily as a young adult, Salvatore served time in the Italian Army. His duties included being a bugle horn soldier and he also learned barbering while cutting soldiers' hair. Later, in the U.S., he cut all his childrens' hair

He came to to Pittston, PA from Italy in 1904 at the age of 23 to for 3 years to learn to make bricks. After 3 years in America he went back to Italy and married Marialetta. They then came to America and settled in Rochester, NY where Salvatore became a mason. They lived most of their married life on Goodman Street.
