1. Make sure you have the parent rom file.
A clone or bootleg will not work with out the parent rom.
2. Make sure you have the bios files.
Example: all neo-geo games need the neo-geo bios to run. Just place it in you roms directory.
3. Make sure your roms are zipped and that your rom path is correct.
4. Make sure your roms are updated. Roms change periodically from one release to the next.
So an older version rom will not work with a new release (IF) it has been changed.
