July 2001 These are some pictures from me and Kate's first trip to the Wind River Range together, and my first trip to the Titcomb Basin. I first heard about this area from Phil and wanted to see the glaciers myself and maybe even try to climb Gannett Peak. We only spent 2 nights in the backcountry since I was concerned about missing work, and were thus severely limited with what we could do in that time. Just in order to get in there and see what we did in 3 days required over 20 miles of backpacking on the last day. |

This lake was stocked with with fish mistakenly by Finis Mitchell (an early Wind River Range enthousiast), although I have a hard time understanding how you could pack fish 15 miles into the wilderness and release them by mistake |
