Holy Cross Circumabulation and Climb, 9/00
Deciding to take one last summer trip before abandoning all free time to studying for qualifying exams, this trip, as many others, was forged as an escapist fantasy.
Highlights include: hiking the last few miles of the approach trail in the dark to save gas, being repeatedly troubled throughout the first night by a dog I though was a bear, and watching my fully loaded backpack cartwheel down 1500' of the Holy Cross Ridge while performing the circuit of the mountain.
