Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness
June 21-24, 2001

In 2001, I decided to celebrate the Summer Solstice with a solo trip to the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness. This decision was based on my current level of understanding of climbing and performing a circuit of mountains with an especially imposing, powerful, and sacred character as a worthwhile experience. While some people perform this loop as a trail marathon in a single day, I would take several in order to have time to better grasp the moment.
