Miss Universe 1998 is one of the best Miss Universe productions!! From the Parade of Nations to the crowning! There was only one small thing missing, the preliminary scores! But we can't do anything about it so why complain? I like their opening dress, I think it's better to have them dress by designers because after watching some previous Miss Universe I saw that some of them take their preliminary gown for their interview dress!
The top 10 were sensational! I love them all! Some of them didn't show their full intelligence but I am sure that she is more intelligent then we think, they wouldn't have made top 10 otherwise ! |

This year the interview portion was change to go in a more international mode! All the girls had to learn about another delegate's country! I think this is so good! We like to learn about culture and this helps us know more about all the girls and their countries! The questions were fair to some girls but some questions were not very interesting! Miss South Africa was the best that night and she didn't have a fair score because she was first to go! I think if she was in 4th or 5th position, she would have made top 5! Miss Russia was paired with Miss Ghana, I think she didn't pay to much attention to Miss Ghana or she didn't learn what Jack asked her! Well she still did good! Miss Ireland was the 2nd to me! She was humorous and I think she is very intelligent! Miss Brazil is so funny and she should have been in top 5! All the rest were good especially Miss Venezuela who was awesome all night! |

| There is one thing that I notice was the fact that we didn't learn about the Hawaii a lot! I think the old style was better in that way! Nest was the swimsuit competition! I loved the setting, all the fire and music was an improvement from 1997!! They all look great in swimsuit especially Miss Venezuela who won the 1000 $ award! Ali and Julie said that the girls in MU didn't have breast augmentation, I think some of them did and I can't complain about it because I like it! |

The evening gown competition was so good this year with KC and Jo-Jo! The girls had impressive and beautiful gowns! I like them all! There was just one black gown and it was Miss Ireland who was wearing it! Miss T&T had the most simple gown but one of the most elegant one! Miss Venezuela was up to my expectation, she was clearly one of the favorites because she had a score of 9.85 if I remember correctly! The gown of Miss Brazil was so gorgeous and I she was so elegant in it! Two other gowns who were my favorite was Miss India and South Africa! They were so elegant and they had Acadamy Award dress like Julie said! They were very stunning |

The top 5 were, Miss Colombia, USA, T&T, Venezuela and Puerto Rico! They also change the top 5 interview, before it was the judges question! Now it's the personal interview! Miss Colombia was my favorite in this competition, she played basketball! Miss Trinidad and Tobago sang for us, she has a beautiful voice! Miss Venezuela was also going to be in the top 3 after this and she was the favorite with Miss Trinidad and Tobago! |

The top 3 were, MISS VENEZUELA, MISS TRINIDAD & TOBAGO and MISS PUERTO RICO!
The final question was "If a woman woke up after being a sleep for 20 years. What do you tell her she as miss?" Miss Venezuela had the best answer by saying that she should remember her dreams that she had before being asleep and make them come true now! Miss Trinidad & Tobago had a some trouble with the question and only said that she had missed a lot of work to our environment. Miss Puerto Rico, what can I say, she was not going to win, her answer did not do her justice at all!
