After the awesome Miss Universe 1995, 1996 was not spectacular!! It was good that they show the delegates preliminary scores!! A lot of girls could have made top 10, since the group was very strong! You must all know that Ali Landry was competing in this pageant and I truly feel that if Miss Universe 1995 was from USA, Ali could have won, but Alicia Machado was clearly one of the best delegates in this Miss Universe contest!! The stage was one of the worst ever!! The Host was very good, Bob Goen was the perfect host for this great pageant!!  The co-host, was not that good compare to Daisy Fuentes!

The top 10 was very good! My favorite was Misses Aruba, USA , Peru and Venezuela! When I saw Peru in the parade of nations, I knew she would be up there! This year was the first one they did the interview before Swimsuit, I didn't like the dresses the delegates wear, I like the MU now were they all wear the same one! Miss Venezuela showed the judge what she was made of, and from there she was the favorite! Miss USA was also good with "Don't loose all your money" she was talking to her family! Miss Finland was so funny with all the jokes her brothers did to her! Miss Aruba liked the Beatles! The awesome Peru talked about her plan to be an architect and she loves to watch NBA!

The swimsuit competition was the best ever! They all looked great!!! Alicia even lost an earring by shaking her head!  Miss Aruba was one of the best here too! It was so funny to see Alcia's picture in the background, you couldn't see her face! The setting was also the best I have seen, it was more then girls walking around, they had a little stuff to do that made the show more exciting.

The evening gown competition was  not good because of the number of stairs! On the good side, the gowns were so good especially Venezuela and USA! In the opening number you could see all the gowns and I must say some of them are different and unique!

The top 6 were, Venezuela, USA, Aruba, Finland, Russia and Mexico! They had to answer the judges question! I don't like the competition because of the questions! I like the questions now (2000). Like Russia, she couldn't give a good answer to that question! Venezuela was clearly the winner here!
One other thing that was boring was the special guest!! I almost fell asleep watching it! The final question was pretty simple and Alica was awesome!! She made us love her even more.  There was something wrong if she didn't win!

Well you all know what append after she won, she gained weight and had a lot of publicity! Now she is an actress in a soap opera!
