Miss Universe 1995
Chelsi Smith USA

1RU: Manpreet Brar -India
2RU: Lana Buchberger- Canada
The Miss Universe 1995 was held May 12th, 1995 in the beautiful country of Namibia!! This pageant is worth watching! It was the best pageant I have seen! All was perfect from the beginning to the end! It all started with the parade of nations and from the looks of it there was a lot of girls who could have been in the top 10! Like in previous years, they had a special number with Jon Secada! The stage was a little small but it was rather long it was also decorated in an African theme. II liked it very much, they had fake animals and water falls! I also thought that the host were the best! Bob Goen and Daisy did an excellent job!! She was very nice to all the delegates and she help us learn about the delegates! I loved that they interviewed some of the delegates. It helps us to see their true personality!

I watch this pageant in 1999 so I don't have a top 10 predictions! I loved the top 10! Miss Colombia was 1st RU in 92 and 93 so she had a little pressure to do good in Miss Universe 1995! She had the 1st position disadvantage but she also had some problems in interview! Miss South Africa was back in Miss Universe after a long time! Miss Canada was the first in the top 10 in over 10 years! She was very good and I thought she should have been the winner! Their was a lot of tall girls in 1995! Miss Venezuela was one of them, I didn't think she was as good as the previous Miss Venezuela. Miss India was the current Miss Universe so Manpreet had a tough road ahead because a country never won 2 Miss Universe crown in a row!
The swimsuit competition was first! They all look good! They all had great bodies and I am sure the competition was one from the neck up! They all wore a pink 1 piece swimsuit! They had African music and it was very fitting for the evening! I don't have nothing to say here that this was one of the years when all the girls look fabulous!! Chelsi Smith won the competition well ahead of the others followed by Canada and Dominican Republic.

9.71 USA
9.59 Canada
9.57 Dominican Republic
9.56 Puerto Rico
9.56 Venezuela
9.51 Trinidad and Tobago
9.43 Colombia
9.37 India
9.34 South Africa
9.30 El Salvador

They had a very entertaining musical number with Jon Secada!! This years musical number was one of the best. In the early 1990's the musical number was very mediocre but it got better.  Every part in the evening just keeps getting better and better!!
The evening gown competition was also one of the best I have seen and  this was the last year that they used "A little Star" with the little sisters! Every gown were very good but especially Canada and Puerto Rico!! They were going to be in the top 6 for sure! The music was also very fitting for the evening.

9.78 Canada
9.70 Venezuela
9.70 India
9.68 South Africa
9.67 Trinidad and Tobago
9.66 Puerto Rico
9.65 USA
9.59 Colombia
9.57 Dominican Republic
9.53 El Salvador

The top 5 were, Trinidad&Tobago, USA, Venezuela, India, Canada and Puerto Rico! The next competition was the judges question! All the judges had some interesting question and really ask for the girls to speak what they truly felt in their hearts! USA was very good and she was one of the favorites in the evening! Miss India said the most small answer of the evening but it meant 10 times the answers of the others! This is the best part to shine, cause if you don't others will and you will lose your chance at the crown! All of them gave an excellent answer and could have made the top 3 but only 3 could advance. This proved to be a very close competition
The top 3 were my favorites! Miss Canada, USA and India!! They all gave an excellent answer! The question basically was what advice would you give to woman! Miss India said she would give them the honour to be called a "human" and not just mother ordaughter. Miss USA told us that she would like for them to be equal with men and Canada told them to continue their education!
The exciting moment came!

Ther 2nd RU was Canada! She gave an excellent answer and she could have easily won. I don't know what appened! The 1st RU was Miss India, this fabulous country was SO close to win 2 crowns in a row! The winner was USA, she deserved the crown and she was a great Miss Universe, USA had not  won since 1980 and she was very happy plus she got to have travel around the world!
