Miss Universe 2000 was FANTASTIC! It was perfect, the stage was awesome  and the music was a great addition! It was pretty close of beating Miss Universe 1999, but MU 2000 is a close 2nd in my book! Elvis Crespo was just great, I love that  song, if you want it, download Napster and it's in it! Careless Whisper was awesome too, Dave Koz and Montell Jordan were a great addition to this fabulous pageant! The opening number was great, those white dresses fitted the show perfectly. I also love the fact that they told us a lot about Cyprus and it's history! I learned a lot about Cyprus in this telecast! I already mention the stage, but it's worth mentioning again! It was very well build and it showed some tourist attractions in it! It was the best stage I ever saw, 1995 was close but I love 2000 better! The host were fantastic especially Sinbad, his jokes and comments were great! Ali and Julie were there again! They stop saying comments about breast augmentations and taping! I saw an article on Miss Universe 2000 from a paper in Cyprus and they revealed the 11 to 15 spot! Miss Czech Republic was 11 following by Netherlands, Miss Panama was 13, Germany 14 and Japan 15! Those 5 girls were so close! The were in the top of my list and if MU would bring the top 10 to 15 that would be great, with no top 10 interview, it would be possible!

The top 10 was also great since Canada made it! She was great! I didn't think she would made it but she proved us wrong! Her pictures doesn't do her justice, she is gorgeous! The usual girls were in the top 10, Venezuela: Claudia Moreno, USA: Lynette Cole and India: Lara Dutta, some  countries were in the top 10 last year also like Spain( Diana) (00)-Helen Lindes Grifith and South Africa (Sonia) (00)- Heather Hamilton. There was also a surprise for me, Zimbabwe:Corrinne Crewe . Miss Estonia:Evelin Mikomagi was the most energetic of the bunch, she has a sparkling personality and she must have bring the judges in another world! She looks like  a lot of fun to be around!! Miss Spain was just like last year Diana, very beautiful! Miss Venezuela was not the original winner of Miss Venezuela 1999, a lot of people thought she would not make it, well she proved them wrong, I think the way the Miss Venezuela Org is organize, the winner will always be a knockout and she will make the top 10 no matter what! Miss USA was in the top 10 again after an absence last year by Kimberly Pressler (She was great but with a lot of competition plus a bad choice in gown cost her a place in top 10) Miss Canada: Kim Yee is a University student in Edmonton, Alberta. She was the biggest surprise of the night! You could hear her mother yell when she was called in top 10! She couldn't believe it herself by the way she reacted, she looked at British Virgin Island and couldn't believe she made top 10! Miss France: Sonia Rolland  was the last to be called and she was so good all night! I noticed a lot of countries were named a year late! Like France (Mareva Galanter) and Canada (Shannon McArthur), they were superb last year and failed to make the top 10! But Kim and Sonia were good too, and you can see with there performance! Miss Colombia (Catalina Acosta)  was back in the top 10 after an absence last year! Colombia usually does good in Miss Universe, finishing 1st RU in 92, 93 and 94, top 10 in 95 plus Top 5 in 98!

This year format was changed! The got rid of the Interview portion and just did a fashion walk! I missed the interview! They always did a similar walk between interview groups, and they should keep it that way! They all look great, especially Venezuela and Colombia! Nothing really to say about this part, since it was not count in the girls scores!

The swimsuit competition was fabulous, they all looked great! The song was so fitting with the show! I think the stage was also great, I like when they use fire! Spain, Venezuela and USA looked the best in swimsuit! I like Canada here too, she was sweet (Just like Ali said) but I think you all know what I think..... Miss Colombia was the only one to wear a 1 piece swimsuit, she looked great but the judges didn't thought so after looking at the beautiful Helen! Miss USA had a perfect body, very toned! Miss Venezuela was up to my expectations, she has a perfect body! I think India was also good but I think Venezuela should have won this competition! One thing I notice, the judge who gave a 7.00 to Miss Venezuela must have been asleep, she was GREAT!!!!!!

The evening gown competition was the best I have seen! "Careless Whisper" was great! It also fitted the show perfectly! I think Venezuela had the best gown followed by Colombia (I think the judges agreed with me). There was some unique gowns like Miss Estonia and Zimbabwe, they were both gorgeous but the choice in gown was not that good! Zimbabwe should have worn her preliminary gown and Estonia should have worn something white! Miss France had the most beautiful yellow gown I have seen! Miss Canada was excellent here, I love her head gesture when she the camera was on a close-up in the beginning of her turn! Miss USA was not that good, her Miss USA gown was much better plus her hair was way better at Miss USA! Miss Spain  good,  but I didn't really like her gown, on the positive  side, she modelled it perfectly! The best was the beautiful Claudia Moreno, Miss Venezuela, the perfect gown! It was very original! The beautiful Miss Colombia was sensational,  just love her gown! I love that she said thanks to the crowd with her hand! Very well done, if I was a judge, I would have given her extra points for that....! Miss South Africa was also great, I like her gown! If they had kept the interview, South Africa would have made top 5, I am sure of it! The same thing for Estonia!

The top 5 was a surprise for me, I didn't think Canada was going to be up there, but no complaints here, she is gorgeous! I thought Colombia would make it, she finished 6th, I guess her swimsuit score hurt her! The rest of the top 5 were expected: Venezuela, USA, India and Spain! The interviews were great! The first to go was Miss Canada, she was good, I wish she would have been in top 3! She looks smart and like Ali said, she is sure sweet! Miss India took our breath away with more than perfect interview! She also broke a record made by the beautiful Carolina Gomez from Miss Universe 1994, that was the highest score given to a delegate in the live competition! She was in the top 3 foe sure! Miss Venezuela spoke English, I think she was good even if I couldn't understand her sometimes! Miss Spain also spoke English, well she was more fluent then Venezuela! All the questions were very good and the smartest  delegates advanced to top 3!

The top 3 were very good, but shame on the interpreter!!!!  Spain could have been the 1st RU, Venezuela should have answered in Spanish, maybe she could have won!

The final question was :

There is a protest going on outside right now, they say that beauty pageants are discriminating to women, prove them wrong.

This was a simple question, it's better that way since everybody can say a good answer and let the best win!

India was clearly the winner and it would have been a surprise to see another win! She sure in gorgeous and I wish her the best year of her life!
