Summer at the Verde Valley PowWow 2005 for the Yavapai-Apache tribe. Featured photo with The Grand Entry. The temperatures on a hot July day exceeded 100 easily.The PowWow went all weekend and was spectacular!!! The regalia(ceremonial costumes) were colorful. And the Drummers competition was outstanding and very spiritual ceremonies that touched every heart there! There was lots of good food and the Fry bread was the greatest by far!!! Shade was an absolute necessity... with a full crowd in the bleachers with umbrellas was quite a sight... There was alot of sharing everywhere with the umbrellas and shade and the excitement of the competition for the $30,000 in Grand prize money was extremely tough! If you get the chance to go to a PowWow! Dont miss it!!! |
