Hamburger Biscuit Bake (serves 12)

Ingredients:
2# ground beef,            1Tbs garlic pepper, 1Tbs salt,                    1 med.onoin minced,    1 stalk celery chopped, 1tsp ground sage,   1tsp thyme,                 1tsp basil

Cook ground beef with garlic pepper, salt onion, and celery. add remaining herbs.

Ingredients:
8 Cups  biscuit mix,     3Cups milk,
4eggs,                        1Tbs salt.

Mix all biscuit ingredients just till blended,not smooth.


To Bake
:
Preheat oven to 400F.
Spoon 1/2 of hamburger mixture into bottom of a 13 x 9 baking dish, "grease" the sides of the pan with it too.  Pour the biscuit mixture over the Hamburger. Spoon the remaining hamburger on top of the biscuit. Bake for 30mins. or until it begins to brown. Serve with brown, mushroom, or beef gravy.

1can beef broth, 3 beef bouillion cubes, 2Cups water, 1Tbs cornstarch, 2Tbs flour.

Bring to a boil; broth, bouilion,and 1Cup water.
Mix cornstarch, flour, and 1Cup water. Slowly stir cornstarch mixture into boiling bouillion mixture, boil and stir for 3mins. If it seems to be too thick add more water. Too thin add more cornstarch

P i z z a  (four large)

One Crust (make four): We knead the dough in our breadmaker, one crust at a time.

10oz. very warm water   1tsp sugar
1/4cup vegetable oil         1tsp garlic powder
2tsp active dry yeast        1tsp salt
4cups all purpose flour     1egg(opt)

put all ingredients in breadmaker pan. Knead for 10min.(setting 9 on our machine). Let rise in a warm place about 5 mins. Roll dough out onto Large pizza pan or cookie sheet. Top with tomato sauce(below), etc.

Pizza Sauce(enough for four pizzas):

1qt tomatoe sauce          1tsp italian seasoning
1tsp basil                       2tsp oregano
1tsp garlic pepper           1tsp fennel seed
1/4C parmesean cheese   1tsp salt(opt.)

Our favorite Toppings:

12oz sliced pepperoni        1 green pepper
8oz. mushrooms               1 med. onion
green olives                         ripe olives
2 pkgs. pressed turkey cut up  
Baked Ham with apples & onions
1 whole ham
6 Macintosh or Ida Red apples
3-4 medium onions
1 lb carrots (baby carrots work well)
whole cloves Honey, Steak sauce (opt)
Large roasting pan

score ham, dot with cloves. Place ham in roasting pan. Slice apples and onions, alternating slices, place them in roasting pan around the ham. Put carrots on top of apples & onions.
drizzle on honey and/or steak sauce
Bake in 350 oven

Oven Roasted Chicken
4 cut up or whole chickens
garlic pepper                    salt
basil                                thyme
sage                                cayenne pepper

Bake in a large roasting pan at 425F for 1/2 hr.
Reduce heat to 350F and bake for about 3hrs. with lid on.Turn and redistribute the chicken pieces 2 or three times during cooking. Remove lid for the last 1/2hr. to crisp the skin.

Gravy:
Put giblets, 4bay leaves, 1tsp whole cloves, 1tsp peppercorns, 1med. onion, 1/2tsp each sage and thyme in enough water to cover. Simmer while chicken is baking. Add more water if necessary during cooking.
When the chicken is done, put the liquid from the roasting pan into a med. saucepan.
Strain liquid from the giblets, add liquid to saucepan.Bring to a boil.
Stir 1/4C cornstarch into 1C cold water, mix well with a fork. Pour slowly and mix into liquid in saucepan. Stir until it begins to boil and thicken. Boil and stir 1-2 mins.
