| Here I am again!
Another year of change, as Debbie noted. A new grandson, and what a beauty! Putting our house up for sale (no buyers yet) and enjoying perhaps our last summer in Horicon. More gray hair, but at least I still have most of it. Finally convincing the legislature to create a 4th judgeship for Dodge County...thats a real biggie. Our travels often take us to our childrens homes as they live so far away. We still had a little opportunity for other travels however. A great trip with Henry to Winnipeg and to Shoal Lake in Canada. A special experience being there with brothers Tom and Ed and their lovely families, sister Denise and Rob...a truly memorable time together. Also a very nice trip to San Diego for brother Guy & Debbies wedding. We proudly attended Joes law school graduation at UVA in the spring. Enjoyed visiting Williamsburg and Jamestown. Got to Eugene to see Petes family both in February and then again at Thanksgiving. They were also here in Horicon in the summer. Caught some frogs, snakes, toads, fish, with Phillip and Nora. Lots of Butch, Alvin and Binky stories as well. Also another trip back to VA. to see Paelun. Looking forward to seeing Hank again at Christmas. As noted above, we are finally getting a 4th judge on August 1st...my caseload will drop 25% from that day on ...this is so overdue, but were glad it is finally happening anyway. Expecting the quality of life on the bench to improve dramatically. We have continued to enjoy our time together on the Horicon Marsh...so many lovely walks, and geese overhead, deer coming thru the yard (watched two under our bird feeder 2 nights ago), etc. I love being with Debbie, but especially on our Sat. morning walks, and then coming home to her blueberry pancakes. Also our evening walks up to the DNR deck to watch the sunset over the marsh. Not a bad prescription for a lasting marriage. She is a real treasure to me. I am still carving Santas...finally finished my polar bear Santa a week or so ago. Starting a new one any day now. Still riding my bike frequently in the summer...made it around the marsh again (34 miles). Still a big Badger fan, got to 4 football games, watching basketball, etc. Still birdwatching.usually 8 or 10 feeders going in our yard at a time, in addition to what we see at the marsh. Lots of gardening as usual. No problem being in the Christmas mood this year....it has snowed about every other day for the past 2 weeks, we must have 15 inches of snow on the ground. Best of the season to you all! Andy |
