| Tests, Milestones, and Results 36 months: Well child checkup stats are awesome! 27 pounds which puts Anna on the chart for the first time since 6 months of age in the 25th percentile! She was in the 50th percentile for height. Anna also started PPCD and it's going well. She cries a lot during lunchtime in the cafeteria and when other child have outbursts, but overall is adapting well. She is now talking in short sentences. We'll be tackling potty training next. 34 months: Completed the Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities (PPCD) evaluation. This program takes over when she ages of ECI at age 3. Anna qualifies for speech therapy, occupational therapy and a physical therapy consultation. They have recommended that Anna attend PPCD 5 days/week for 4 hours/day, but we're going to start with just 2 days/week. 32 months: Completed speech evaluation. Most verbal skills are in the 18-month range. Started private ST 2x/week and home listening technique. Progress with SIOT is amazing. Anna is more comfortable using her body, able to climb an open-rung ladder, and is much more verbal. She's starting to put 2 word phrases together. Sleeping is better, but eating cycles are still poor. She's still very reactive to other children's noises. 30 months: Completed sensory integration, praxis, and OT evaluation with private therapy. Gross motor tested at 15-17 months, fine motor is 12-15 months, moderate to severe issues with gravitational insecurity, moderate to severe issues with praxis (motor planning), poor equilibrium, decreased muscle tone and postural controls, decreased balance, decreased ocular pursuits, and auditory defensiveness. We'll be starting OT 2x/week using traditional OT activities, desensitization for the sensory integration dysfunction, and a listening technique to help with the auditory defensiveness. 29 months: Got ear tubes placed and Anna's vocabulary doubled within 10 days! Amazing!!! She's imitating everything, speaking much more clearly, and has over 50 real words now. 29 months: Started the socialization program called Open Door with ECI. Anna is still crying when the other children cry, but enjoys circle time for songs and loves the classroom gerbil, Goldie! 29 months: Another visit with the neuro about Anna's weird pupil constriction episodes, space out spells and intense sensory reaction to other children crying. Recommended SIOT (sensory integration occupational therapy) and an EEG in the future if spells intensify. Head circumference: 45 cm. 27 months: After 3 hearing tests, and an ENT visit, we've discovered that Anna has chronic fluid in her middle ear that may affect her ability to hear soft speech. She now has 15 words and 40 signs. |
