In recognition of his mediocre contribution to Minnesota sports

DOUG WOOG

is hereby inducted into the

Minnesota Assembly of Mediocre Athletes Hall of Fame

on this 29th day of February, 2004

At first glance, Doug's outstanding record as Gopher Men's Hockey coach might seem far beyond MAMA credentials. Then again, to coach at the preeminent hockey school in that nation without winning a single NCAA Championship actually takes some doing, and his successor Don Lucia has proven that it can still be done. Preventing Minnesota's one perennial powerhouse from winning a championship for over a decade deserves special mention in the Halls of MAMA, where mediority is embraced and championships are feared.
