In recognition of his mediocre contribution to Minnesota sports

SAM MITCHELL

is hereby inducted into the

Minnesota Assembly of Mediocre Athletes Hall of Fame

on this 29th day of February, 2004

As the Timberwolves rose out from the abyss of suckitude to becoming a perennial 1st-round playoff loser, Sam Mitchell was a steadying veteran inluence ensuring they would remain mediocre. Best remembered for consistently hitting uncontested 15-foot jump-shots, Sam was an effective "4th option" who would make teams pay for overplaying the Wolves' rising young stars. Good enough to help the team to respectability, poor enough to prevent them from achieving playoff success - that's what MAMA is all about!
