In recognition of his mediocre contribution to Minnesota sports

FRED BARRETT

is hereby inducted into the

Minnesota Assembly of Mediocre Athletes Hall of Fame

on this 29th day of February, 2004

Anyone with a nickname of "Steady Freddie" has to be in the MAMA Hall of Fame! In the days before ESPN, Fred earned his reputation as a player who stayed OUT of the highlights. Fred averaged less than two goals a year throughout his twelve year career with the North Stars and his smallish stature hardly struck fear in his opponents. On the other hand, Fred was always relied upon as a steady defensive presence on a team known for a wide-open risk-taking style, earning him a spot in this highlight-averse shrine.
