| I "unvented" this sock pattern because I couldn't find a pattern that "matched" the yarn colorway. | ||||||||||||||||||||

| This is my first attempt at writing a pattern. If you find an error or if you have questions, please e-mail me. I made this sock with a variation of the feather and fan stitch to fit an 8" ankle, but it is very stretchy, so it would also fit someone with a larger ankle. The foot is also feather and fan, but I eliminated all purls, and the YO's were from the back of the needle to eliminate the lacy effect (and hopefully make a stronger foot). If you prefer a lacy foot, you could keep doing the YO's from the front of the needle. If you want a foot without waves, you could use a stockinette stitch instead. If you prefer another heel, you can substitute your favorite heel. |

| Materials: Sock yarn (I used Lang Jawoll Color Superwash yarn) Size 1 Double Point Needles (if you use reinforcement thread for the heel and toe, you will also need size 0 DPN's for the heel and toe) Stitch Markers (I used small pieces of contrasting scrap yarn, tied into a circle) Gauge: 2 Feather and Fan repeats = 3.5" Abbreviations: K = Knit K2tog = Knit 2 stitches together P = Purl P2tog = Purl 2 stitches together PM = Place marker. Sl = Slip stitch (as if to purl, unless directed otherwise) SM = Slip Marker from left to right needle. SSK = Slip next 2 stitches (one at a time) as if to knit. Insert left needle into front of these two stitches. Knit the two stitches together. St(s) = Stitch(es) YO = Yarn Over Cuff: Using the Twisted German Cast On, cast on 72 stitches. Work in a K2, P1 rib for 1 - 2". Leg: * Note: It is easier to keep track of the pattern if you put a stitch marker between each pattern repeat. Pick up and knit 1 st of each of the slipped edge sts along the heel flap and 1 additional st where the heel flap and instep join. PM. Work across instep in Feather and Fan Foot Pattern. PM. Pick up and knit 1 st where instep and heel flap join and 1 st in each of the slipped sts along the other edge of the heel flap.
