This is the front view of EZ's Baby Surpise Sweater.  You can't see the buttons well in the picture, but they're clear.  The stitch pattern I used for this sweater is shown below. This is the back view of the Baby Surprise Sweater.

(can be done with any even number of stitches, in a multiple of 20 rows)


In my swatch, Color A = red; Color B = white
(feel free to substitute colors of your choice)

Abbreviations:
    K = Knit
    P = Purl
    rep = repeat
    sl 1 wyib = slip stitch from left needle to right needle with yarn in back
    st = stitch

Row 1 (Color A): Knit across.
Row 2 (Color A): Knit across.
Row 3 (Color B): K1, (sl 1 wyib, K1) across to within 1 st from end, K1.
Row 4 (Color B): (K in the stitches you knitted in the row below, P the stitches you slipped in the row below).
Row 5 (Color A): K1, (K1, sl 1 wyib) across to within 1 st from end, K1.
Row 6 (Color A): Rep Row 4.
Row 7 (Color A): Knit across.
Row 8 (Color A): Knit across.
Row 9 (Color B): Repeat Row 3.
Row 10 (Color B): Repeat Row 4.
Row 11 (Color B): Knit across.
Row 12 (Color B): Knit across.
Row 13 (Color A): Repeat Row 3.
Row 14 (Color A): Repeat Row 4.
