Cabins are supplied with dishes,pots, pans, fridge, stove, sheets and pillows. Bring your own personal towel and sleeping bag. The centrally located shower house has flush toilets.
For those who have a sense of history or adventure, take a day to explore former Indian village sites, the location of the Hudson Bay Co. Trading Post, the Indian pictographs, and the numerous abandoned gold mines.
WHERE WE ARE ......
Approximately 16 miles from the public access at the north end of Sturgoen Lake,80 miles north of Ignace, Ontario,Canada, and approximately 400 miles north of Duluth, Minnesota. Good paved roads will bring you all but the last mile to the Public Access.
Groceries, beer, spirits,and gasoline are available in Savant Lake, the nearest village, just two miles north of the landing.
If you call ahead, someone will meet you at the landing and guide you to the resort
Because of the many long,narrow fingers in the north end of the lake, there are over 800 miles of shoreline, not counting the islands. This vast amount of shoreline provides a much higher fish population then is found in the average lake. Our resort, is located in the middle of these narrow fingers, so fishing is possible even in windy conditions.
We also have boats on several great walleye lakes just a short portage away
shallow water Lake Trout fishing. At ice out, Lake Trout are found in the shallow water. They are hungry,aggressive, and will hit on all most ant spoon or driving lure you can cast to them.
In the fall, trout come to the shallows to spawn, Throw small heavy spoons, spinners or spinner baits around the rocky reefs near deep water. In shallow water, Lake trout run like salmon and fight like Bass.

A truly great trip combines bird hunting with the Fall Trout fishing. The woods around Sturgeon Lake are full of partridge and grouse and miles of remote trails make hunting easy. Bring your 4-wheeler.
Evening meals are served family style in the lodge or gazebo.
