FITZHENRY


FITZHARRIS - This Anglo-Norman surname, now found mainly in Co.Carlow, was earlier principally in Co. Wexford. The Registrar of Births reported, in the last century, the use of Fitzhenry in Wexford Union interchangeably with Fitzharris. Fitzhenry survives a surname n Co. Carlow and Co. Wexford and there are families of both surnames in Dublin. The Registrar also reported an instance at Killeen, Co. Meath, of the use of Feeharry for Fitzharris.
