BEATTIE

BEATTIE Variation of Beatie is a variation of the Scottish and Irish name Beatty. In both Scotland and Northern Ireland, Beatie is a first-name short form of Bartholomew. (See Bartholomew).
In Ireland it can also be anglicized form of the Gaelic biadhtach, a term used for a victualler. (9)page 82.
