| My Precious Friend A friend is worth their weight in gold, The most precious jewel on earth, For money cannot buy the things A friendship can endure. A friend is with you all the way Through times both good and bad, When you are feeling really down She'll make your heart feel glad. A touch upon your shoulder, A tear drop or a smile, In joy, or in your sorrow She'll be there all the while. She'll help you climb the highest hill Or pull you from the pit. She'll give you the most gentle push, Or even shove a bit. She'll feel your pain and you'll feel hers, You'll share the joyful times. But never will forsake you, In all the hardest climbs. You are that kind of friend to me, I thank the Lord for you. For even in the darkest times, Our friendship pulls us through. Copyright (c) 2005 Mary M. Alward All Rights Reserved. |
