In a back and forth game, Malverne held on for the tie by stranding the winning run on third. Glen started the game and pitched 2 solid innings keeping the game close. Alec pitched the middle two frames, and Franklin hurled the final two innings. There were a few nice hits in the game by Anthony, driving in some runs. Connor drove a fastball
into left center for a double and Nick beat out a slow roller to third. There were some stolen bases in todays game by Nick, Chris, and Franklin. James also swiped a base after being hit by a pitch. In the field, Matt almost made a great catch in right, making the runner on first to hold up long enough to still get the force at second.The catching of Bart, Brendan, and Patrick helped keep runners off the base paths by throwing out several would be base stealers. Next game is Thursday July 14.
