| Malverne scored early and scored often tonight while winning the most lopsided game of the season. Before Floral Park could record an out, Brendan led off with a base hit and scored on a Chris R hit. Chris then scored on infield hit by John B who quickly stole second and third. Matt walked and Nick B singled up the middle knocking in a run. The hit parade continued with Liam and Patrick each getting a hit and RBI. The boys had a 5-0 lead and never looked back.
In the second inning Malverne loaded the bases quickly with a walk by Anthony and base hits from Bart and Franklin. Brendan delivered a hit for an RBI and Alex pushed two more runs across on an infield hit. With two men on, Chris R blasted a three run homer to give the boys a huge lead. Bart put on a pitching clinic the first two innings with Anthony behind the plate. He struck out 6 batters while allowing only two base runners. Malverne lead 10-1 after two innings. John B started off the third with a walk and stole second (his third stolen base of the game). Matt doubled over the centerfielders head driving in a run. Nick made it back-to-back doubles with a shot into centerfield as well, scoring Matt. Liam beat out an infield hit and Conner walked and Pat had an RBI single, setting things up for Joe F to deliver the BLAST of the game. He launched a shot deep into the right centerfield gap �.for a GRAND SLAM!!! John B pitched the third inning with help from Matt catching. Floral Park loaded the bases with one out but John shut them down by striking out two in a row to end the threat. Bart led off the fourth inning with a hit and scored on a double by Franklin. Brendan followed with a hit and an RBI. Alex walked and Chris R singled loading the bases for Matt, who managed a walk and an RBI. Nick B then delivered his third hit of the game and drove in two more runs, to end the inning. Matt S took to the hill in the fourth and Liam moved behind the plate. Floral Park managed a few runs, but Matt helped himself by fielding two ground balls to end the inning. In the fifth, Liam walked, Conner dropped down a textbook bunt base hit and Patrick singled to right center to load the bases once again. Bart plated two more runs with a two out double. It was his third hit of the game. Franklin added one more RBI to his total with an infield hit and concluded Malvernes offensive outburst!!! Chris R finished the pitching with Brendan catching. After a few walks and stolen bases, Floral Park added a few runs but it wasn�t nearly enough as Chris struck out the final batter for a 23-7 victory!!! Photos Below |
