In the final game of the season, Mineola plus 5 Malverne boys beat the Malverne team 3-1. It was another fun filled game with great plays. Kevin made a sparkling play at third, Frank made one at first and Billy M at first too.
"What a great season we had," said Manager John G. "We played hard...smart...fun ball. We behaved like gentlemen throughout the whole season and each kid made me proud every game."
From the older kids down to the youngest, Liam, the boys improved every game and really came together as a team. "I was very proud of the way the boys gathered around whoever was feeling bad about striking out, not pitching so well or when a boy got hurt. There were times when a guy needed a lift and his teammates were always there."
Now that the season is over, some of the boys will play football, some fall baseball and some soccer.
