Holiday in Germany 6 Dec 2004 to 9 Jan 2005:

Drinking Gl�hwein in Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas market). It was cold and the hot wine really made my day!		On 11 and 12 December we went in Ith to spend a couple of days climbing.  It was really cold and at night we had tempeatures below zero.  This is Peter's tent.

12 Dec, morning, breakfast.	12 Dec, morning.   I went outside in the freezing air on a morning photo hunt!  The dutch people in the other tents were still sleeping.		Peter during breakfast.

Checkpoint Charlie.   When the great city was still split by the infamous Berlin Wall this was one of the allied checkpoints before leaving west part to go to east.  The museum at Checkpoint Charlie is a must-see when in Berlin.			Memorial yard for all those who died in the Wall.

Dracula Jesus.  When I saw this mask I immediately gave it that name because I thought it looked like Jesus but with fangs... so Dracula Jesus was born! 24 Dec (Xmas Eve), a party at Vanessa's house.  L-R: Vanessa, Hildbrug, Roland (parents of Vanessa), Roland's father, Hildbrug's father, myself, Tobi	Opening the presents!	29 Dec.  We went skating in Essen.  First time skating for me which proved somewhat uncomfortable.   I had small shoes resulting in huge blisters in both my feet.  I didn't fall much given it was my first time in an ice ring on a pair of blades.  The photo on the right shows me on the ice after a fall.

	31 Dec (NY eve).  We spent the evening at Karin and Werner (Christina's parents) playing cards, drinking and eating	Champaign drinking on H-Hour!	1 Jan 2005.  We went skiing in Boltrop in an indoor skiing hall since it didn't snow.  It was our last resort!   Andreas during a short break

Rush! Rush! Rush!	Short but fun.   Better than nothing.  The indoor skiing was somewhat dangerous too (I ended with a swollen blue thumb and a knock on my ribs during a crash!)		Strange painful look as I clip the shoes into my blistered feet (from skating boots)
On 6 Jan, Andreas and I went to a big zoo in Duisburg.  (The day before we visited a small aquarium in Bochum)
		We passed some evenings playing cards ("Schwimmen") and drinking	All money we played went into this piggy!
