"OK. Dr. Jackson, what have you found?" The General questioned the young man.

"Well," Daniel replied shuffling through the pile of papers on the desk. "We sent the probe through the gate at the last dialed address and we discovered this." He picked up the small device that controlled the projector. The screen was filled with an image of a small room, delicately decorated with ancient Egyptian designs. "This is P3X779."

"And this means?" Jack interrupted.

Daniel gave him a glance but carried on with his discussion. "I believe that this room may in fact be a small part of a larger temple or possibly a chamber."

"What are you hoping to find?" Major Carter questioned.

"Well, by the looks of the design it is an early adaptation of most of the Egyptian things we've found. I believe that we may be able to get an exact date on when this was adapted by the Goa'uld."

"How? There is very little evidence available at any site we've been to."

"Well, that's why Id like to go to these co-ordinates and see for myself, with your permission, General."

The general glanced around the table at the group of people around him and smiled. "Permission granted."

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

The alarm sounded and the gate began to dial the coordinates.

"So, this gonna be one of those hidden surprise deals?" Jack asked as he stood before the gate. He turned to face Daniel who stood at his side. "I hope not," Daniel said as he approached the ramp. "So do I," Jack replied as he followed on.

The group moved down the ramp leaving behind the noise of the gate room and entered the wormhole. Within a few moments they were at their destination.

"Not exactly what I thought, but with a few curtains maybe some wall paper,'' Jack commented.

Daniel adjusted his glasses, as he approached the wall, his hand outstretched to feel the carvings.

A noise caught Jack's attention. He spun, his gun aimed unerringly towards the source of the sound. "Who's there?" A small face appeared. "Daniel" Jack lowered his gun.

Daniel turned to see a young girl peering at them. He immediately began to talk, all the time walking closer to where the girl crouched behind a large box."Hi...I'mI'm Daniel and this is..."

"You shouldn't be here,'' The girl spoke with a soft voice, but Daniel could hear how it wavered with fear.

Daniel was taken back by these sudden words. "WhyWhy not?"

The young girl came around the box to where the group was standing. She was small, thin, with brown curly hair and blue eyes. She had a small symbol on her forehead in the shape of a tiny sun. "You must leave, now."

The look on her face told Daniel she was not joking. She grabbed his arm and pulled him towards the DHD. "Please."

Jack raised his gun again. "Ah, wait a minute, who are you?"

"It doesn't matter, please you must leave before they get here,'' She begged.

Daniel pulled back his arm and pushed his glasses up his nose, looking at the young girl. "Who? Before who comes?"

She was about to speak again when she suddenly stopped. Her face turned from the look of concern to one of terror. She walked backwards away from Daniel and Jack. "It's too late, they're here." She ran off in the opposite direction.

"Wait..."

There was a loud banging and the large door slid open to reveal sizeable army of Jaffa. SG-1 was quickly surrounded, staffs pointing directly at them.

"Oh yeah, no surprises here," Jack said shaking his head.

The team raised their hands above their heads as the Jaffa disarmed them.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>

The Jaffa pushed them along the corridors and into a large chamber. At the head of the room was a throne. Behind it was a backdrop of curtains.

"Dj vu," Jack said taking in his new surroundings.

The curtains moved aside and Apophis stepped out. His eyes glowed as he saw the people that stood before him.

"Uh oh," Daniel commented.

"Oh yeah, this is gonna be one of those days."

The Jaffa pushed the group to their knees.

"Colonel O'Neill, what a surprise."

"Well, we aim to please."

"Hm." The goa'uld smiled as he walked down the steps towards them. "I've been wondering how to dispose of you all. You are pests, you will regret that you ever crossed me.''

"Way ahead of you there.''

"Silence!'' Apophis stood in front of them, his hand device began to glow. "I will rid myself of you now. '' He raised his hand to their level. "Who is first to die?''

"Wait.'' The small girl ran from behind the curtain and came to stand at his side.

"How dare you....''

"Forgive me,'' She said bowing "But I believe that they will be more use to you alive.'' She stood cowering, not daring to look him in the eyes, then he dropped his hand to his side. "How may they be of use?'' "Well, we do not know much about the Tau'ri.''

Apophis looked at the five people who knelt before him. "Perhaps you are right.'' Apophis gestured to the guards to remove the team form the room. He turned for a moment to Teal`c, before he was taken away. ''Shol`va, you will die slowly and painfully.''

"Forgive me,'' The young girl said.

"See that it does not happen again, now leave me.''

"Yes, my Lord.''

She walked away.

"Wait.'' She turned back to face him. "You will speak to them, and tell me what you find.''

"Yes, my Lord.'' The young girl bowed again and quickly left the room.

>>>>>>>>>>>>

"Well, aren't we all glad we came,'' Jack said sarcastically. He sat down with his back against the wall, there were Jaffa guards surrounding the large cage they had been placed in.

"We've been in worse predicaments than this,'' Daniel said pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose. He sat staring out into the room surrounding the cage, when he spotted the small girl crouching in the corner. He got to his feet and walked over to get a closer look. She sat not too far from the cage then a voice entered his head.

**I am sorry. **

He looked at her for a moment then noticed the small symbol on her forehead was glowing a bright blue color. She smiled.

**This was the best I could do to save you and your friends.**

Daniel stood staring at the young girl. He was amazed that she could speak to him through his own mind and she appeared able to read his thoughts too. **Don't be alarmed, it's my gift.**

**Gift?** Daniel thought and she seemed to read it.

**Yes, I'm not Goa'uld, I'm human, but also telepathic.**

**Oh**

She smiled at his confusion

**Well you know my name, this is...**

**Jack O'Neill, Samantha Carter and Teal'c.**

**You've heard of us?**

**Its an honour to meet the people of the Tau'ri.**

**May I ask your name?**

**Lianna** She smiled again, but became uneasy when one of the guards decided to walk around the cage and inspect the room. She stayed hidden. There was a small shrieking noise and the Jaffa guards suddenly left their posts. She came to the cage. "I have to go.''

"Wait.''

She turned back to face the young doctor. "Can you help us?''

She sighed and nodded. "I can try.''

"Thank you.''

She smiled and crept out of the room.

"Great. Now we're getting rescued by a child.''

"Got any other ideas?'' Daniel challenged.

"Perhaps she will be a lot more helpful than she appears, O'Neill.''

"Ah Teal'c, she's a scared little girl. I don't think we can depend on her too much. All I'm saying is that maybe we should try to figure our own way out.''

"Indeed, but do not underestimate her, sometimes the weak and feeble have more power than we believe.''

"Like the Nox,'' Sam added in.

"Indeed.''

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

"What have you discovered about the prisoners?'' Apophis stood looking at a long device in his hands, randomly pushing the buttons.

"Nothing. They're very good at hiding their thoughts.''

He looked up at her. "Liar.'' The Goa'uld approached the young girl who stood across the room from him. They stood in his chamber, complete with Sarcophagus. It was beautifully decorated with gold and silk. He pushed his face close to hers. "You wish to help them.''

"No, I would never betray you.''

He grinned and placed his hand around her throat. "You will not betray me because I will kill you.'' He squeezed, watching the look on her face, then released her. "Now bring O'Neill in here,'' he commanded the Jaffa around him.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

The Colonel didn't try to fight against the Jaffa, instead he came quietly.

"You will give me the iris code to your gate or I will kill you.''

Jack laughed. "Well. Since you put it that way.''

"Do not play games with me.'' He took a zat gun from one of the Jaffa and held it out to Jack. "Tell me the code!''

"I don't think so.''

Apophis fired the zat. Blue energy streaked across the room, swarming over Jack like a swarm of angry bees. He cried out and fell to the floor, instinctively curling into a fetal ball.

"Tell me,'' Apophis demanded again, his eyes glowing as he approached Jack , still brandishing the zat. His arm tensed and he prepared to fire again. He prepared to fire one more time. Still no answer. "Very well.'' The weapon discharged and Jack arched for a second, then went horribly limp. There was silence in the room and no one spoke. Lianna stood silently, she did not watch.

"Take his body away.''

Lianna stepped forward. "My Lord,'' She spoke up. He turned to face her. "May I have the body?''

"For what purpose?''

"I may be able to get into his mind, discover secrets.''

"Very well.''

>>>>>>>>>>>

Lianna sat next to the side of the bed where Jack lay, his body lifeless. She stood, placing her hands over his head. She closed her eyes. An eerie glow filled the room, travelling from her hands to Jack's head, she slowly moved down his body, and the light attached itself from his head to his legs.

He suddenly gasped. His heart beating again. Jack slowly opened his eyes and sat up. "What the hell?''

"Welcome back.''

"I was..''

"Dead.''

"Dead? Ah for crying out loud!''

"I healed you.''

Jack glanced at her. "By any chance do you know the Nox?''

"No.''

"Right.''

She smiled. "You're alive, that's all that matters.''

"I guess, so what now?''

"Well, now we could rescue your friends, after all you are dead.'' Lianna said with a pleased look.

"Ah. Nice plan.''

"Thank you.''

"So if we are planning on rescuing the others, I'll need some weapons.''

"Ah, no can do." She shook her head.

"Why not?''

"Well, the armoury is heavily guarded." She sounded afraid.

"But if you can bring me back to life, surely you can get into there.''

She sighed nodding gently. "I can try.''

She got up from the side of the bed and over to the wall, she pushed a small symbol that opened the door leading out into the hallway.

"If anyone comes in, I'll be dead.''

She laughed, then left closing the door behind her.

>>>>>>>>

She walked coolly up to the armory, Jaffa guards standing in her way. One of them moved in front of her, staff weapon close to her face.

"Out of my way.''

"No one must enter.''

"Let me pass.''

The Jaffa smirked and pushed her backwards. "I said move, now.''

"No.''

"I think she said move.'' A zat blast suddenly discharged. Lianna ducked, the zat blast zinging harmlessly over her head to strike the Jaffa square in the chest. She turned to find Jack standing behind her, zat in hand. "You asked him to move.'' He said.

She grinned. "Where'd you get that?''

"Jumped a guard that came into your room.''

She pushed the symbol to open the door and it slid open. The room was filled with crates, similar to the ones Jack and the others had discovered on Apophis' ship a while back. He opened one of the crates to discover that they were full of staff weapons. Scanning the room, he spied their gear stacked neatly in the corner.

"Is this everything?'' He asked picking up some of the gear.

"I think so.''

Jack searched through the other bags, then threw them all to the ground. "Damn it.'' He raised his hands above his head.

"What?''

"There's this small device, it's long, with lots of buttons.''

"And it's missing?''

"Yeah.''

"Well, we need to help your friends first, you go and help them and I could look for the device.''

"No, we'll get them together.''

Jack picked up all the gear he could carry and handed the rest to Lianna.

"Ready?'' He asked glancing at her.

"Yeah.''

They left the room Jack slowly working his way along the corridor, Lianna close behind.

"Ermm Jack,'' She whispered shyly.

"Yeah," He asked, glancing backwards.

"You don't have to do that, if anyone's coming I'll let you know.'' She tapped the side of her head.

"Right, right, habit sorry.''

They weren't far down the hallway when Lianna called him. "Jack.''

"What?'' He turned to face her.

The Jaffa appeared behind him and shot his staff directly at Jack's back. Lianna simply raised her hand and the blast bounced back off some kind of forcefield around Jack. It struck the guard that fired it. Jack had instinctively ducked.

" Shall we continue?'' She asked walking past him.

Jack stood with a look of disbelief before continuing on after her. "How'd you do that forcefield thing?''

"If I can control things, I can stop things.''

"Well I guess I have to thank you then.''

"Actually, you owe me your life, but we can settle for a thank you.''

Jack smiled, he actually was beginning to like this girl. They found their way to the chamber where the rest of SG-1 were being held. Sam appeared to be in a daze, a glum look spread over her face like a rash. Daniel was hugging her.

"I'll take care of the guards,'' Lianna said. "You get your friends to safety.''

She put down the backpacks and slowly walked into the room. The Jaffa immediately turned to face her.

"Our Lord is asking that you help me.''

"With what?''

"I will show you, follow me.''

The Jaffa followed the young girl and Jack waited until they were out of sight. Then he entered the room walking straight over to the cage.

"Jack!'' Daniel shouted and immediately got to his feet.

"Daniel.''

"We were told you were....''

"Dead?''

"Yeah.''

"Yeah well, only the good die young.''

While he spoke he desperately tried the lock that held the door closed, but it didn't move. He didn't notice the group of Jaffa behind him.

"Umm Jack.''

"Not now Daniel, I'm kinda busy.''

"Yeah, so are they.''

Jack quickly turned, staffs pointed directly at him. "Hi,'' He said waving with his left hand. The Jaffa looked confused then suddenly they were flung across the other side of the room, the impact with the wall knocking them out. Lianna ran in from the doorway. "Sorry, had to take care of the others.''

Jack stood in shock. "No problem.'' He then turned back to the cage and began to fiddle with the lock again. "Damn thing won't budge.''

"Let me try.''

"Listen if a grown man can't move it then...''

With a small gesture of her hand the lock unlocked. She looked at him smiling.

"Never mind, you're too smart for your own good.''

Sam who had been sitting at the back of the cage walked out to Jack. She took her gun from him "I'm so glad you're alive, I thought I'd lost you.''

Jack came to gaze in her eyes. "Take a lot more than him to keep me away.''

She smiled.

"Getting out of here?'' Daniel asked

"Right of course,'' Jack said trying to hide his embarrassment.

The team gathered their things and left.

>>>>>>>>>>

"OK, so where's the gate?'' Sam enquired.

"Down this way, but there's a problem.'' Lianna said turning to face the group, an uncertain look on her face.

"What now?'' Jack asked running out of patience

"Well, to get the gate, you have to pass through the main area, where Apophis will be right now, with some of his guards.''

Great, Jack commented.

They all stopped walking and stood for a moment.

"So how do we get past them?''

>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Lianna entered the room first, walking over to where Apophis sat. She bowed and began to talk to him. "My Lord, I bring good news.'' She glanced over her shoulder for a second to see if the team was coming. They were trying to reach a door on the opposite side of the room, but to reach it they must get past five Jaffa guards. The room itself was large with no cover at all, so once inside the room it was shoot to kill. Once the young girl had his attention Jack gave the order. "Go.''

Teal'c ran into the room first. He shot and took down one of the guards in the far left corner of the room. He didn't see the Jaffa hiding behind a pillar close to the door. The Jaffa got off a shot and Teal'c fell to the floor, helpless against the pain. Jack fired his zat, taking out the Jaffa before he too fell victim to an unseen enemy. Sam and Daniel were quickly surrounded and both surrendered.

Apophis had got to his feet. "You tried to help them escape!''

Lianna cowered and began to walk away from him. "Please..I..I''

He lifted his hand and released a power burst that sent her crashing into the wall. She looked up into his eyes as he approached again. The pain she was in obvious in her face as she was injured by the impact of the wall.

"I will kill you for this!''

She sat with her back against the wall. Apophis stood close to her, his hand device glowing, his temper short. "Then kill me.'' There was no aggression in her voice, it was pure terror.

"What?'' His face showed his confusion.

She stood, using the wall to support her, holding one hand against her ribs.

"Shol'va.''

"If you're going to kill me, then kill me." He stood for a moment, Sam watched Lianna, who looked terrified. "No.'' Apophis stepped back and looked to his Jaffa. "There are worse things than death.''

>>>>>>>>>>

"Well, here we are, back in the cage.'' Jack said, he was now awake.

"Shhhh Jack, I think she's waking up.'' Daniel had been watching Lianna, who had been asleep for a while, she had been placed in the holding cage with them. She opened her eyes looking towards the group who stared at her. She immediately tried to sit up, but she was in a lot of pain. "Aw.'' She held her side as she pushed herself up from the ground into a sitting position.

"You all right?'' Jack asked.

"No.'' She held her side tightly.

"Break a rib?'' Jack asked showing a little sympathy.

"Probably.''

Sam who had been sitting in the corner came to sit with Lianna. "Well, that plan was a failure. Any other bright ideas?''

There was a long pause before Lianna spoke. "I've got one.'' They looked at her expectantly. "In the armoury, there were some grenades.''

"Yeah.''

"Well, then why try to shoot our way through, why not blast?'' Jack's face suddenly lightened up. "Yeah, why didn't I think of that.'' There was no reply as the group glanced at him. "What you think I couldn't have?''

Sam grinned.

"Yeah well she's an alien, I'll let her off this time.'' Lianna stood.

"One problem.'' Jack said in her ear as he came to stand by her.

"What?''

"How do we get outta here?''

She simply moved her hand across the lock and pushed open the door. "I believe we walk out of the door.''

"Ha.'' Jack didn't waste any time, he immediately pushed out of the door.

"Oh Jack, you might want to watch out for the...'' Jack was hit over the head. "......Jaffa.'' The others cringed as Jack fell backwards and bashed his head.

Teal'c took on the two Jaffa in hand to hand combat while Jack picked himself up.

"You guys coming or not?'' He gestured with his hand.

Sam and Daniel checked out the hallway as the others followed closely behind.

>>>>>>>>

Lianna lead the way to the armoury. "Here we are.'' She pulled out a large round device.

"Ah, we've seen that before.''

It was a Jaffa grenade like the one Bra'tac had used in a recent mission on Apophis' ship. She handed them one each. "Jack, did you find that device?'' Lianna looked at him. "Damn,'' he cursed "No.''

Lianna stood for a moment, thinking. "I think I may know where it is.''

"Where?'' Jack enquired.

"I can get it.''

"I'll come with you.''

"There isn't enough time," Lianna said, " You get to the gate, I'll get the device and meet you there.''

Jack wasn't entirely sure about this plan, but he went with it anyway. "OK.'' She nodded and left the room.

"Be careful,'' Jack called after her, but she didn't glance back as she walked away.

>>>>>>>>>>>

Lianna crept slowly along the corridor, aching all over from her injuries. Her ribs hurt, and bruises had already begun to appear, but she knew she had to help these people escape. She had seen so many terrors in her lifetime, while serving Apophis. She knew that the only people who may be able to stop him and others like him, were depending on her and she was not going to let them down. She arrived outside his chamber, the door was open, and the room was empty.

She slowly walked through the door, glancing around the room. She spotted the device resting on the side of the Sarcophagus. She walked over to where it, and picked it up, she was just about to leave, when she heard footsteps approaching. She quickly crouched behind the Sarcophagus.

Two of Apophis' Jaffa guards entered the room. Lianna held her breath, prayed they didn't find her. They spoke to each other, in the ancient language, Lianna understood what they were saying. Apophis had sent them to get the device, they searched the room for it.

Failing in their mission, they left to go back to their God. They closed the door behind them as they left. Lianna finally released her breath. "Phew.''

She got up from her hiding place and left the room cautiously, now she had to find the others.

>>>>>>>>>

Jack crouched in the doorway, leaning over slightly to get a look in the room. There were three guards in the room and Apophis sat on his throne. Jack gestured to the others and they all set their grenades. "Ready?'' He whispered.

The others nodded.

They threw the devices into the open room and waited for the blinding light. As soon as the flash had ended Jack entered the room, followed by the others. The Jaffa, were laying on the ground. Apophis, however, was no where to be seen. "Stay alert,'' Jack called, noticing that Apophis was missing.

They quickly made their way towards the door when a staff blast impacted in the wall above Jack's head, he spun around to see Apophis aiming again. This time however, the staff was pointed at Sam.

"Carter!''

Jack ran over just as the staff fired, he pushed Sam out of the way and they both fell to the ground in a heap. Jack ended up lying directly on top of Sam. They lay for a moment looking into each other's eyes.

"Thanks,'' Sam said.

"Anytime.''

They weren't there very long before they had to move again. Jack pulled Sam to her feet and they quickly left the room. Teal'c waited until they were all inside. "O'Neill, shall I seal the door?''

"No, we've got to wait for Lianna. She's got the GDO. Daniel, dial us up, quickly.''

Daniel ran over to the DHD. Daniel began to push the right combination on the DHD to go back to earth. "Come on, Lianna.''

>>>>>>>>>>

Lianna approached the room that Jack and the others had passed through. There was an eerie silence. She slowly walked in looking around as she did so. The Jaffa lay on the ground. She decided to run, she was almost at the door when Apophis stepped in her way. "You will pay for this.'' She stopped dead in her tracks. Apophis pointed the staff directly at her and fired. It struck her shoulder. She cried out in pain as she fell backwards onto the floor, the device slid from her hand. "You deceived me, you lied to your God.''

"You're not a God.''

"How dare you speak to me in that way!'' He held the staff towards her again, a big smile on his face. She closed her eyes, as he went to fire again. But the blast wasn't released. She opened her eyes again to see Teal'c standing in front of her, he had Apophis, his large hands clamped on his throat. "Teal'c?''

Teal'c stood, in his hands he controlled Aphophis` life. With one tug he could end a lifetime of misery.Lianna didn't stop him , she sat watching. Teal'c noticed her innocent face, as she sat watching, maybe hoping Teal'c would end it there and then. Then he finally realised what he was doing and let Aphophis go. The Goa`uld`s body slumped to the ground. "We must leave now.''

"Why didn't you kill him?''

"If I had killed him then, I would be no better than him.''

"But still....''

"There will be other times.''He helped her to her feet and she picked up the device, glancing back to see Apophis getting to his feet again.

Jack was waiting impatiently by the Stargate, Sam and Daniel at his side. "Finally.''

Lianna handed Sam the device and she set the frequency. "Let's go.'' Sam and Daniel stepped into the wormhole.

Lianna didn't follow Jack and Teal'c she stood watching. Jack turned. "You coming?''

"I don't belong on your planet.''

"You don't belong here.''

She stood for a moment her hand on her shoulder. "Where would I go?''

"We'll figure that out when we get there. Come on.'' Jack held out his hand, she smiled, taking it and disappearing into the wormhole.

>>>>>>>>

They stepped out the other side. The gate room was huge full of flashing lights and noise. Lianna stepped back, a little afraid, but Jack gripped her hand. "It's ok,'' He said to her.

The General was standing at the bottom of the ramp. "Welcome home, SG-1.''

"Thank you, Sir,'' Jack stepped forward pulling Lianna with him. "I don't believe we've met,'' The General said.

Lianna shied away, all the noise and confusion had been a bit much for her, plus she was still in pain with her injuries. "General, this is Lianna.'' She glanced up at Jack and then at the General.

"Perhaps you should take her to the infirmary,'' The General suggested noticing the wound on her shoulder.

"Yes, Sir.''

Jack walked down the ramp. Lianna pulled back again. Teal'c walked up behind her and placed his hand on her shoulder. "There is no need to be alarmed.''

>>>>>>>>>

"Hello, Lianna I'm Doctor Fraiser. Is it ok if I take a look at your arm?'' She nodded. The doctor cleaned the wound and patched it up with a bandage."OK, Lianna since you're new here, I need to take a few tests, is that ok?''

"I'll be right here,'' Jack said holding her hand.

"OK, what kind of tests?''

"Well I'll take some of your blood and a few x-rays and scans.'' "OK.''

Jack smiled, it had been a while since someone had needed Jack and Lianna was a chance for him to put those skills to the test.

>>>>>>>>

12 hours later....

"Sam, there you are, I thought you'd like to see this.'' The whole team were standing in the infirmary, Lianna was in the guest quarters sleeping.

"What is it?''

"Well I took a scan of Lianna`s brain.'' The doctor switched on the monitor and brought up the scan she had recently taken. "That's odd.''

"What?'' Jack asked.

"Well, normal human brains show activation in these regions,'' She said pointing to the scan. "We use about 45%, Lianna`s brain however is 99% active.''

"Wow, do you think that might explain her 'powers'?''

"I believe so.''

"OK, so her brain works a bit more than mine, I'm kinda used to that now, what's the big deal?'' Jack asked.

"Well...'' The doctor didn't have time to finish her sentence as the alarm went off.

"Off-world activation.''

"Oh for crying out loud what now?'' Jack left the room heading again to the control room, followed by the rest of his team.

>>>>>>>>

"General.''

"Jack.''

"Any idea who is it?''

"None.''

Lianna stood just behind Jack, watching the gate. The alarms had woken her up and she'd been escorted to the control room. The iris was closed, protecting the SGC from the open wormhole.

"Any ID code?''

"None.''

They watched as the wormhole maintained. Then suddenly and without warning the iris began to fail.

"Major?''

"Running an analysis now, Sir.''

"Seal off the gate room.'' The General took hold of the mic "All personnel to report to the gate room immediately, this is a code red!''

They watched in horror as the iris opened and three Jaffa Guards stepped through the gate.

"They don't have the technology to...'' With that the Jaffa began to fire in the gate room. "Close the blast doors!''

The General turned to Jack.

"General...I.''

"Put the base on full alert.''

"Yes, Sir.''

"And seal off all routes leading out of the base.'' He turned to Sam. "Major shut down that gate.''

"Sir.''

"I don't understand, the Goa'uld knew nothing about our iris,'' Sam said tapping away at the computer.

Jack ran out of the room and towards the armory, he wasn't going to waste time. "Did you tell them?'' Sam enquired turning away from the computer screen to look at the young girl.

"What?'' She looked completely shocked.

"Did you tell them?''

"No, of course I didn't.''

"Lianna, at any time, did you tell them about any of our security.''

"Are you accusing me of spying?''

"No, I'm....''

"Yes, you are.''

"Lianna, I'm simply trying to find out how they know.''

"Well, I never told them.''

Jack arrived back in the room, with an arm full of weapons and ammunition, he stopped talking and listened for a moment as more and more Jaffa arrived through the gate. "Carter, will those doors hold against their weapons?''

"Yes, but not for very long.''

"Great.''

>>>>>>>>>>

Lianna couldn't believe that Sam had accused her of being a traitor. She listened terrified of being found by Apophis, but she wasn't about to run away and hide.

A voice came over the speakers in the base, Sam and Jack listened. "Return the Sholva to me," Apophis' voice boomed through the open stargate.

Jack looked back at Lianna. She looked scared out of her mind. He sighed. "Looks like you've got some fans.''

She looked up at him. "I'm sorry.''

"Lianna, it's not your fault.''

"They've come for me.''

"And they can't have you.''

She looked down at the ground. "I can't put you all in danger.''

"Too late.''

He smiled and walked over to her, she didn't look him in the face. He hugged her, at first she didn't return the hug, but she finally put her arms around him. "Jack, maybe I should just go with them.''

"I don't think so, tell me a Goa'uld ever that kept their promise.''

"Well....''

"There you go then, we fight.''

There was a sound of metal crunching. "Carter, I think we should leave.''

The General approached the computer system. "Jack, I need another officer.''

"Yes, Sir.'' Both men entered their codes and the count down begun.

"Jack? what's.... you're gonna blow it up?''

"Yeah it's just a precaution.''

The General and Sam left the room, followed by Jack and Lianna. Airmen ran passed them from every direction, some firing at approaching Jaffa, their yells could be heard echoing around the base. Jack and the others weren't far down the corridor when they heard the Jaffa coming towards them

"Damn.'' Lianna stood behind Jack. "Carter, General perhaps we should go the other way?'' Jack mentioned.

They turned around and walked away from the footsteps, only to be confronted by more.

"Erm Colonel.''

"I know, Major.''

They stood waiting to be greeted by the Jaffa. Lianna gripped Jack's hand and he looked down, he realised what would happen if they found her. Without a moment hesitation he pulled her over to the side of the corridor, opened the door to a hold, pushed her inside and closed the door, holding the knob, so she couldn't get out. She started to bang on the door shouting. "Jack! Jack please don't, Jack!''

The Jaffa came around the corner, staffs pointing. There was nothing Jack or the others could do.

>>>>>>>>>>>

Lianna continued to bang on the door, she couldn't believe that Jack had done that, she was ready to face the problem that she had caused, but he had hidden her away.

She collapsed on the floor tears rolling down her cheeks as she sobbed. Images of them being murdered because of her ran through her mind. She was so scared, so unsure of what to do. Jack had been the only person to show her any kindness and now she was going to lose that along with the others. But she wouldn't let that happen. She stopped crying. **Why should I be afraid anymore**

She stood, put her hand to the knob turning it. The door swung open. She searched the corridor, but there was no sign of anyone.

"Auto destruct in 5 minutes.'' She walked down the corridor towards the gate room.

>>>>>>>>>>

The General and SG-1 were on their knees in the gate room. Surrounded by Jaffa guards. There were odd members from the other teams as well.

"Tell me where she is.'' Jack smirked. The others remained quiet. "Where is she?'' Apophis demanded picking up a staff weapon. "I will kill you all one by one until.....''

"I'm here.''

Jack looked up, there in the doorway of the gate room stood Lianna. She didn't look afraid and she didn't cower, instead she looked directly at Apophis. He walked towards her, she didn't move, she stood looking him directly in the eyes. He was so close that she could feel his breath on her face, he raised his hand and struck her across she face, she stumbled backwards. "You will pay.''

Jack watched. "Leave her alone.''

Apophis turned to Jack grinning. "Kill them.'' He ordered the Jaffa. The Jaffa pointed their staffs and fired. Nothing happened, the blasts simply bounced back.

Apophis turned to Lianna confused, she stood hand out stretched in the direction of the group, the tiny symbol on her head glowing a bright blue. "You?''

She looked at him. Then the bubble protecting the group suddenly pushed back all the Jaffa standing around them. They fell backwards knocked out immediately. There were a few that escaped the blast. Apophis stood with a look of fear on his face.

Jack and the others watched in disbelief as Lianna`s eyes suddenly became glossed over with a white glaze. She walked towards Apophis her hand outstretched. The Goa`uld backed away from the young girl as she walked towards him.

Suddenly, without warning the guards around him began to shake, their bodies convulsing, blood streaming from their mouths as they collapsed on the floor. Apophis had backed away to the other side of the room. Lianna approached the gate, with one glance from her a wormhole formed. Before their eyes the Jaffa began to disappear slowly, and behind the young girl small ripples in the wormhole appeared. Apophis stood watching, then she turned to him. "Go, and never come back... because I will kill you.''

He lifted off the ground, unable to stop her from levitating him. "I will leave.'' He was suddenly thrown at the gate and into the wormhole. After a moment the wormhole disengaged.

There was complete silence in the room and Lianna stood watching the others, then collapsed.

"Lianna!'' Jack got up from the floor and rushed over to her, she was unconscious.

>>>>>>>>>>>

Lianna opened her eyes again and found herself in the medical bay, it took a few moments for her eyes to focus.

"Colonel, someone's awake,'' The Doctor said.

Jack approached the side of the bed. "Hey.''

Lianna smiled. "Hey.''

"How you feeling?''

"OK, you?''

"I'm fine thanks to you.'' He smiled.

"What was that in there?''

"I guess that was me kicking ass.''

He laughed.

"It sure was.''

Teal'c walked into the room followed by Sam, Daniel and the General. "I am glad to see you are awake,''Teal'c said.

Lianna held out her hand taking Teal'c's hand. She smiled. "Glad to see you're all ok.''

"I believe you may have earned your stay on earth,'' The General said.

"Lianna, that was amazing what you did in there,'' Daniel said.

"It wasn't me.''

"I don't understand.''

"I lost control.''

"Guess you were more afraid than you thought.''

"No, I wasn't afraid.''

Jack sat on the side of her bed. "Well let's not worry about small details, we're all here and you're here as well, so I'm happy.'' She smiled.

Jack glanced up at the others.

"She needs to get her rest, Colonel,'' The doctor suggested.

He kissed Lianna`s forehead and left the room.

>>>>>>>>>

Lianna walked towards the room and knocked the door, the team of SG-1 were seated around the table in the debriefing room.

"Come in,'' The General called.

She pushed open the door.

"Please take a seat.''

She smiled and walked into the room. Jack pulled back a chair and she sat, the others then continued on with their discussion. Ever since being taken from her family Lianna had never felt like she belonged, but here, now she was happy, felt at home and like she had somewhere to Belong.
