Hired on as shipping clerk with enVogue Sculptured Nail Systems, she worked her way into Office Administration where she did everything from basic book keeping to
telephone support for product users in the field.
It was these phone calls that spurred Meredith to further her nail education.
Meredith began reading up on other products that were available to Nail Technicians, and how they worked. She learned as much as she could about the company she was working for, and how their products were conceived, produced and how they worked. She began asking all the nail techs she had come to know during her employment for
any help they could give her.
Finally, Meredith began practicing the application process herself, so that when someone phoned with a question, should could give them the information they needed to ensure proper product usage.
enVogue Sculptured Nail Systems offers training to people entering the industry, or users looking to switch products-- in Meredith's position within the company, it was easy for her to access this education, and follow the testing process needed to obtain her certificate. Not only does Meredith possess classroom knowledge, she has had the privelidge of working with some of the top Nail Technicians in the field, including Nail Olympics Gold Medal Winner, Joanne Linck. This allowed Meredith to go further in educating herself by picking up tips from the pros working within the industry.
In 2003, Meredith came up with the idea of starting her own nail business, focusing on offering quality services and product at an affordable rate so that every woman could enjoy spa quality service without the hefty price tag. She recognized that by opening a home based nail studio, she could offer intimate, one on one customer service in a comfortable environment, and save the cost of high overhead in a retail setting.
Malo's Nailcare Studio was born.
Opening in July of 2004, Malo's Nailcare Studio has been forging ahead, building a steady clientele, and ever expanding and improving the services offered. Meredith continues to educate herself on the products on the market, new techniques and perfecting old ones. She has obtained various certificates including Geriatric Foot Care, enVogue Sculptured Nails' Manufacturer's Training as well as certificates in the recognition and prevention of various skin and nail diseases.
