Please don't tell me to get pictures for 151 pokemon.(soon to be well over 250) You'll never get me to do it, it'll never happen. I'll try to keep as many of these with comments as possible but naturally, I can only comment on those pokemon I've used in a meaningful battle. (Bracketed) numbers come from Yellow version.
#1-3 Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur
Type: All three are Grass/Poison
Evolution: 16, 32
Attacks: 7 Leech Seed, 13 Vine Whip, 20/22 Poison Powder, 27/30 Razor Leaf, 34/38/43 Growth, 41/46/55 Sleep Powder, 48/54/65 Solar Beam
Max Stats:
Health: 363
Attack: 262
Defense: 264
Speed: 258
Special: 298
One of the beginning pokemon. Venusaur is quite fast for a grass type and has some nice attacks like Sleep Powder, Razorleaf and (if ya don't mind the warmup time) Solar Beam
Movesets:
Standard: Sleep Powder, Razor Leaf, Swords Dance, Body Slam
Toxic Leechasaur: Toxic, Leech Seed, Razorleaf, Mega Drain
#4-6 Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard
Type: The first two are Fire, Charizard is Fire/Flying
Evolution: 16, 36
Attacks: 9 Ember, 15 Leer, 22/24 Rage, 30/33/36 Slash, 38/42/46 Flamethrower, 46/56/55 Firespin
Max Stats:
Health: 359
Attack: 266
Defense: 254
Speed: 298
Special: 268
Charizard's unique Flying/Fire poses some interest. Ground attacks are no longer a problem for it and it only takes a quarter the usual damage from grass attacks. It's an excellent way to fight Benedict the Exeggutor. It's special rating leaves some to be desired.
Movesets
Standard: Flamethrower, Slash, Earthquake, Double Team
Swiss Army Charizard(huge options list, but crap in battle): Cut, Dig, Fly, Strength
#7-9 Squirtle, Wartortle, Blastoise
Type: All three are Water
Evolution: 16, 36
Attacks: 8 Bubble, 15 Water Gun, 22/24 Bite, 28/31 Withdraw, 35/39/42 Skull Bash, 42/47/52 Hydropump
Max Stats:
Health: 361
Attack: 264
Defense: 298
Speed: 254
Special 268
Though none of the three choices at the beginning of Red and Blue are the best there is but Blastoise is generally considered the most useful since it is tough and can use both earthquake and ice attacks.
Movesets
Standard: Body Slam, Surf, Blizzard, Earthquake
#10-12 Caterpie, Metapod, Butterfree
Type: The first two are Bug, Butterfree is Bug/Flying
Evolution: 7, 10
Attacks: 12 Confusion, 15 Poison Powder, 16 Stun Spore, 17 Sleep Powder, 21 Supersonic, 26 Whirlwind, (28) Gust, 32(34) Psybeam
Max Stats:
Attack: 188
Defense: 198
Speed: 238
Special: 258
Butterfree is relegated to the shadow of its vastly superior cousin, the Venomoth. However, the early stage at which you can get it means it's the earliest form of psychic assault. If you started with a Charmander, it's fairly essential to have one of these to get thru Brock without overlevelign.
Movesets
Mine: Sleep Powder(Stun Spore in Stadium), Solar Beam, Psychic, Reflect
#13-15 Weedle, Kakuna, Beedrill
Type: All three are Bug/Poison
Evolution: 7, 10
Attacks: 12 Fury Attack, 16 Focus Energy, 20 Twineedle, 25Rage, 30 Twineedle, 35 Agility
Max Stats:
Health: 333
Attack: 258
Defense: 178
Speed: 248
Special: 188
Beedrill is very nice to have early on since Beedrill evolves quickly and has high attack, but it grows obsolete later on.
Moveset: Swords Dance, Twineedle, Double Edge, Reflect
#16-18 Pidgey, Pidgeotto, Pidgeot
Type: All three are Normal/Flying
Evolution: 18, 36
Attacks: 5 Sand Attack, 12 Quick Attack, 19/21 Whirlwind, 28/31 Wing Attack, 36/40/44 Agility, 44/49/54 Mirror Move
Max Stats:
Health: 369
Attack: 258
Defense: 248
Speed: 280
Special: 238
These range from garbage through to crap. They are rubbish, use only to challenge your team making skills
Movesets
Mine: Double Team, Rest, Fly, Double Edge
#19-20 Rattata, Raticate
Type: Both are normal
Evolution: 20
Attacks: 7 Quick Attack, 14 Hyper Fang, 23/27 Focus Energy, 34/41 Super Fang
Max Stats:
Health: 313
Attack: 260
Defense: 218
Speed: 292
Special: 198
A good, flexible, early game attack pokemon. Its effectiveness diminishes as the game progresses. The rat's special is low as hell but there ain't much else you can do for him.
Movesets:
Mine: Super Fang, Body Slam, Blizzard, Thunderbolt
#21-22 Spearow, Fearow
Type: Both are Normal/Flying
Evolution: 20
Attacks: 9 Leer, 15 fury Attack, 22/25 Mirror Move, 29/34 Drill Peck, 36/43 Agility
Max Stats:
Health: 333
Attack: 278
Defense: 228
Speed: 298
Special: 220
Another crap bird. Not as dumb as Pidgeot but very close. It's attack power looks reasonable but it'ls defensive skills look shot.
Movesets:
Mine: Double Team, Rest, Drill Peck, Double Edge
#23-24 Ekans, Arbok
Type: Both are Poison
Evolution: 22
Attacks: 10 Poison Sting, 17 Bite, 24/27 Glare, 31/36 Screech, 38/47 Acid
Max Stats:
Health: 323
Attack: 268
Defense: 236
Speed: 258
Special 228
Ekans represents the single best method of catching an early Abra. Arbok has a quick early-mid game evolution which gives it an edge in attack and speed for a limited time over most competitors. Though from the surface Arbok looks pathetic in the stats at level 100, it does have a few possibilities on a trickster team. It can outfit a variety of moves to annoy and encourage a pokemon switch.
Movesets:
Trickster's Set: Wrap, Toxic, Screech, Earthquake
Attack Set (not recommended): Hyperbeam/Body Slam, Rockslide, Earthquake, Screech
#25-26 Pikachu/Raichu
Type: Both are Electric
Evolution: Thunder Stone
Attacks: (6) Tail Whip, 9(8) Thunder Wave, 16(11) Quick Attack, (15) Double Team, (20) Slam, 26 Swift(Thunderbolt), 33 Agility, 43(41) thunder, (50) Light Screen
Max Stats:
Health: 323
Attack: 278
Defense: 208
Speed: 298
Special: 278
Pikachu of course, is the most world's most famous pokemon. Unfortunately, it isn't immensely strong. In Yellow however, it learns many new attacks to balance this off. You should not evolve any Pikachu until level 43 in Red and Blue and not until level 50 for Yellow. Raichu's offensive abilities are good but it's a bit sad in the area of physical defense.
Movesets:
Surfing Pikachu(requires Stadium's surfing pikachu): Thunderbolt, Surf, Thunderwave, Reflect/Double Edge
#27-28 Sandshrew, Sandslash
Type: Both are Ground
Evolution: 22
Attacks: 10 Sand Attack, 17 Slash, 24/27 Poison Sting, 31/36 Swift, 38/47 Fury Swipes
Max Stats:
Health: 353
Attack: 298
Defense: 318
Speed: 228
Special: 208
Sandslash is a bit slow on the draw and a bit flimsy in the Special area but its Attack and Defense justify its widespread use as both a ground type heavy assault pokemon and as a "Swift Dancer".
Movesets:
Swift Dancer: Earthquake, Rockslide, Swift, Swords Dance
#29-31 Nidoran, Nidorina, Nidoqueen
Type: First two are Poison, Nidoqueen is Poison/Ground
Evolution: 16, Moon Stone
Attacks: 8 Horn Attack, 14(17)/(19)/(19) Poison Sting, 21(23)/23(27) Focus Energy, -/-/23 Thrash, 29(30)/32(36 Fury Attack, 36(38)/41(46) Horn Drill, 43(12),50(12) Double Kick
Max Stats:
Health: 383
Attack: 262
Defense: 272
Speed: 250
Special: 248
Nidoqueen is similar to Nidoking but slower, less powerful but heavier HP and defense ratings.
Move Sets:
12 Type Killer: Earthquake, Rockslide, Blizzard, Thunderbolt
#32-34 Nidoran, Nidorino, Nidoking
Type: First two are Poison, Nidoking is Poison/Ground
Evolution: 16, Moon Stone
Attacks: 8 Scratch, 14/-/19 Poison Sting, 21/23 Tail Whip, -/-/23 Body Slam, 29/32 Bite, 36/41 Fury Swipes, 43(12)/40(12) Double Kick
Max Stats:
Health: 365
Attack: 282
Defense: 252
Speed: 268
Special: 248
Nidoking's speed and attack are better than Nidoqueen's but its HP and Defense is not as high.
Move Sets:
12 Type Killer: Earthquake, Rockslide, Blizzard, Thunderbolt
#35-36 Clefairy, Clefable
Type: Both are Normal
Evolution: Moon Stone
Attacks: 13 Sing, 18 Doubleslap, 24 Minimize, 31 Metronome, 39 Defense Curl, 48 Light Screen
Clefable's stats all range from average to crap except for it's fairly high number of HP. It's recommended that one makes use of its TM flexibility.
Movesets:
Mine: Thunderbolt, Blizzard, Double Team, Rest
Another set: Thunderwave, Psychic, Body Slam, Seismic Toss
#37-38 Vulpix, Ninetales
Type: Both are Fire
Evolution: Fire Stone
Attacks: 16 Quick Attack, 21 Roar, 28 confuse ray, 35 Flamethrower, 42 Fire Spin
Max Stats:
Health: 349
Attack: 250
Defense: 248
Speed: 298
Special: 298
Ninetales has both high speed and high special. Thus, it produces some of the most powerful fire attacks in the game as well as having the speed to keep many pokemon in a permanent firespin (so long as it doesn't miss =P) Of course, that means it isn't anything special physically.
Movesets:
Trickster: Confuse Ray, Firespin, Flamethrower, Dig
#39-40 Jigglypuff, Wigglytuff
Type: Both are Normal
Evolution: Moon Stone
Attacks: 9 Pound, 14 Disable, 19 Defense Curl, 24 Doubleslap, 29 Rest, 34 Body Slam, 39 Double Edge
Max Stats:
Health: 483
Attack: 238
Defense: 188
Speed: 188
Special: 198
Wifflytuff's stats are total crap but to make up for it, the puffball's got an obscene amount of HP. Use of this pokemon not recommended.
Movesets:
Mine: Double Team, Rest, Body Slam, Psychic
#41-42 Zubat, Golbat
Type: Both are Poison/Flying
Evolution: 22
Attacks: 10 Supersonic, 15 Bite, 21 Confuse Ray, 28/32 Wing Attack, 36/42 Haze
Golbat is cursed with relatively low statistics. However, its flying half gives it the edge in that it ignores the ground attacks that poison is usually weak against. Another thing however, is it's potential as a trickster pokemon. In addition to such things as Screech and Confuse Ray, it learns the Haze attack which dooms Double Teaming, Stalling and Tank strategies. No Golbat should ever fly into combat without haze.
Movesets:
Trickster: Confuse Ray, Screech, Haze, Double Edge
Starving Golbat(gimmick set, don't use): Leech Life, Mega Drain, Bite, Screech
Attack Golbat(untested!!!):Mega Drain, Double Edge, Screech, Haze
#43-45 Oddish, Gloom, Vileplume
Type: All are Grass/Poison
Evolution: 21, Leaf Stone
Attacks: 15 Poison Powder, 17 Stun Spore, 19 Sleep Powder, 24/28 Acid, 33/38 petal Dance, 46/52 Solar Beam
Max Stats:
Health: 353
Attack: 258
Defense: 268
Speed: 198
Special: 298
Run of the mill plant pokemon. Hefty special and moderately good lasting power but horrid speed.
Movesets:
Slam Dancer(gimmick, untested): Body Slam, Swords Dance, Petal Dance, Double Team
Sleeper: Sleep Powder, Solar Beam, Rest, Double Team
Mine(prolly not good): Body Slam, Petal Dance, Sleep Powder(Perhaps Stun Spore in Stadium), Reflect
#46-47 Paras, Parasect
Type: Both are Bug/Grass
Evolution: 24
Attacks: 13 Stun Spore, 20 Leech Life, 27/3- Spore, 34/39 Slash, 41/48 Growth
Max Stats:
Health: 323
Attack: 288
Defense: 258
Speed: 158
Special: 258
If Parasect gets hit, it will fall over very, very fast. Spore is a really reliable sleep attack (about the accuracy of Blizzard) with a few TM's like Swords Dance, the thing can be made to put up a fight.
Movesets:
Mine: Spore, Swords Dance, Double Edge, Solarbeam/Megadrain
Friend's: Spore, Slash, Solarbeam/Megadrain, Reflect
#48-49 Venonat, Venomoth
Type: Both are Bug/Poison
Evolution: 31
Attacks: 11 Supersonic, 29 Confusion, 24(22) Poison Powder, 27 Leech Life, 30 Stun Spore, 35/38 Psybeam, 38/43 Sleep Powder, 43/50 Psychic
Max Stats:
Health: 343
Attack: 228
Defense: 218
Speed: 278
Special: 278
Even though its Bug/Poison, Venomoth's attacks are heavily psychic and it features a few quality moves like Sleep Powder as well. It is a vast improvement over the obsolete Butterfree.
Movesets:
Mine: Sleep Powder(Possibly Stun Spore in Stadium), Psychic, Reflect Mega Drain
#50-51 Diglett, Dugtrio
Type: Both are Ground
Evolution: 26
Attacks: 19 Dig, 24 Sand Attack, 31/35 Slash, 40/47 Earthquake
Max Stats:
Health: 273
Attack: 258
Defense: 198
Speed: 338
Special: 238
Dugtrio is an oddity among ground types. While other ground types developed reputation to be fairly slow by fairly physically powerful, Dugtrio is the exact opposite. This mole is one of the fastest draws in the game and incidentally, the fastest pokemon capable of learning an instant kill move. ON the flip side, its defense has the consistency of tissue paper. You've got one flimsy pokemon when you couple that with one of the lowest HP levels in the game.
Movesets:
Gambler's Set: Fissure, Earthquake, Rockslide, Hyperbeam
Mine: Earthquake, Rockslide, Slash, Fissure
#52-53 Meowth, Persian
Type: Both are Normal
Evolution: 28
Attacks: 12 Bite, 17 pay Day, 24 Screech, 33/37 Fury Swipes, 44/51 Slash
Max Stats:
Health: 333
Attack: 238
Defense 218
Speed: 328
Special: 228
Persian is among the fastest in the game and can use a large variety of TM's to spice up the cat's attack arsenal. Too bad the kitty's cursed with flimsy stats everywhere other than speed.
Mine: Toxic/Screech, Bubblebeam, Thunderbolt, Slash
#54-55 Psyduck, Golduck
Type: Both are Water
Evolution: 33
Attacks: 28 Tail Whip, 31 Disable, 36/39 Confusion, 43/48 Fury Swipes, 52/59 Hydro Pump
Max Stats:
Health: 363
Attack: 262
Defense: 254
Speed: 268
Special: 258
Looks like average stats from here. I stuck some varied attacks on it but I've not used it yet. Don't trust my moveset.
Movesets:
Mine: Dig, Surf, Blizzard, Body Slam. It oughta work like the Blastoise but no earthquake is a drag.
#56-57 Mankey, Primeape
Type: Both are Fighting
Evolution: 28
Attacks: (9)Low Kick, 15 Karate Chop, 21 Fury Swipes, 27 Focus Energy, (28) Rage, 33/37 Seismic Toss, 45 Screech, 39/46 Thrash
Passable fighter, not terrific though.
#58-59 Growlithe, Arcanine
Type: Both are Fire
Evolution: Fire Stone
Attacks: 18 Ember, 23 Leer, 30 Take Down, 39 Agility, 50 Flamethrower
An excellent fire type. Growlithe itself is pretty neat early on. Arcanine has a very high attack power as well as strong HP, Speed and Special ratings. If it had more variety, it would be even better.
#60-62 Poliwag, Poliwhirl, Poliwrath
Type: First two are Water, Poliwrath is Water/Fighting
Evolution: 25, Water Stone
Attacks: 16 Hypnosis, 19 Water Gun, 25/26 Doubleslap, 31/33 Body Slam, 38/41 Amnesia, 45/49 Hydro Pump
No comment, never used. It looks good since it can learn a variety of TM's. It would be sweet if it could learn Thunderbolt.
#63-65 Abra, Kadabra, Alakazam
Type: All are Psychic
Evolution: 16, Trade
Attacks: 16, Confusion, 20 Disable, 27 Psybeam, 31 Recover, 38 Psychic, 42 Reflect
These guys have a lot of Psychic attacks and their special ratings are so high it is wrong! Abra doesn't learn anything and stays that way till level 16 at which point it becomes Kadabra, a very strong psychic pokemon. Once traded, Alakazam is even better. A good strategy for these things is just to hit first and hit real hard. Watch out though, even at full hp and with Recover, a good physical hit such as Dig or Hyperbeam will knock off the flimsy thing in one shot.
#66-68 Machop, Machoke, Machamp
Type: All are Psychic
Evolution: 28, Trade
Attacks: 20 Low Kick, 25 Leer, 32/36 Focus Energy, 39/44 Seismic Toss, 46/52 Submission
Like the Abra series, these guys also need to be traded to reach full potential but unlike Abra, Machop is far from helpless before it evolves. With relatively high attack and cheap fighting moves, Machop can wreak a lot of havoc. Machamp has one of the highest attack ratings in the game. However, they aren't particularily good when being hit themselves and they can't move fast either.
#69-71 Bellsprout, Weepinbell, Victreebel
Type: All are Grass/Poison
Evolution: 21, Leaf Stone
Attacks: 13 Wrap, 15 Poison Powder, 18 Sleep Powder, 21/23 Stun Spore, 26/29 Acid, 33/38 Razor Leaf, 42/49 Slam
I haven't used this much but at least at the lower levels the bell series sucks pretty badly. Its not great with either its physical ability or its special attacks.
#72-73 Tentacool, Tentacruel
Type: All are Water/Poison
Evolution: 30
Attacks: 7 Supersonic, 13 Wrap, 18 Poison Sting, 22 Water Gun, 27 Constrict, 33/35 Barrier, 40/43 Screech, 48/50 Hydropump
Poison type is one of the weakest around since it gets slaughtered by a lot of types. It has weak attacks and they aren't effective against many pokemon. However, this interesting jellyfish has some possibilities. The thing's special is very high so using its water abilities will be effective.
#74-76 Geodude, Graveller, Golem
Type: All are Rock/Ground
Evolution: 25, Trade
Attacks: 11 Defense Curl, 16 Rock Throw, 21 Self Destruct, 26/29 Harden, 31/36 Earthquake, 36/43 Explosion
Like man rock and ground type pokemon, Golem has a lot of defense and quite an impressive number of hp. However, its offensive abilities leave something to be desired.
#77-78 Ponyta, Rapidash
Type: Both are Fire
Evolution: 40
Attacks: 30 Tail Whip, 32 Stomp, 35 Growl, 39 Fire Spin, 43/47 Take Down, 48/55 Agility
This fire horse takes quite a while to evolve fully and I personally don't consider it worth waiting for. However, this pokemon isn't all bad since it is both fast and strong. However, don't expect excellent defense or special for the fire attacks. Fire Spin is devestating though, it could hold you for a long time.
#79-80 Slowpoke, Slowbro
Type: Both are Water
Evolution: 37
Attacks: 18 Disable, 22 Head Butt, 27 Growl, 33 Water Gun, -/37 Withdraw, 40/44 Amnesia, 48/55 Psychic
Well, these two are damn slow on their feat. However, they do ahve powerful psychic attacks and a passable offensive strength. Their defense is high so they can take a beating if need be.
#81-82 Magnemite, Magneton
Type: Both are Electric
Evolution: 30
Attacks: (21) Sonic Boom, 25 Thundershock, 29 Supersonic, 35/38 Thunderwave, 41/46 Swift, 47/54 Screech
For an electric pokemon, Magnemite and Magneton are both painfully slow and their attack power is atrocious. However, they got a fair physical defense and high special ratings. I haven't used it much though so I can't comment on combat capabilities.
#83 Farfetch'd
Type: Normal/Flying
Evolution: none
Attacks: 7 Leer, 15 Fury Attack, 23 Swords Dance, 31 Agility, 39 Slash
Our first pokemon that never evolves. No comments, never used.
#84-85 Doduo, Dodrio
Type: Both are Normal/Flying
Evolution: 31
Attacks: 20 Growl, 24 Fury Attack, 30 Drill Peck, 36/39 Rage, 30/45 Tri Attack, 44/51 Agility
Dodrio is fast and very strong on the attack. I consider this the best non-legendary bird. This thing can definitely hit hard.
#86-87 Seel, Dewgong
Type: Seel is Water, Dewgong is Water/Ice
Evolution: 34
Attacks: 30 Growl, 35 Aurora Beam, 40/44 Rest, 45/50 Take Down, 50/56 Ice Beam
I've not used Dewgong or Seel in a fight but I've been against a strong one before and it ain't pretty. Form the surface, none of Dewgong's ratings seem particularily high but just the fact that it uses ice attacks but has the water type stuck on makes it very strong.
#88-89 Grimer, Muk
Type: Both are Poison
Evolution: 38
Attacks: 30 Poison Gas, 33 Minimize, 37 Sludge, 42/45 Harden, 48/53 Screech, 55/60 Acid Armor
Both Grimer and Muk major in the hitpoint category, capable of receiving massive amounts of damage before dying. Muk also excels at physical and poison attacks. Though it has to build to level 60 to learn, Muk's Acid Armor can raise its average defense up very high to work with its massive hp. Then, it can minimize a lot to make the opponent miss more. It has some TM flexibility to upgrade its attack selection too. Probably one of the best poison types you can find.
#90-91 Shellder, Cloyster
Type: Shellder is Water, Cloyster is Water/Ice
Evolution: Water Stone
Attacks: 18 Supersonic, 23 Clamp, 30 Aurora Beam, 39 leer, 50 Ice Beam, -/50 Spike Cannon
Cloyster's defensive power is insane. Its got the toughest defense in the game and even power moves like hyperbeam cannot penetrate its hard shell much. Its ice abilities are great too, making it one of the best dragon killers in service. Whether you opt for ice beam or evolve Cloyster early for the Spike Cannon is a matter of preference.
#92-94 Ghastly, Haunter, Gengar
Type: Ghost/Poison
Evolution: 25, Trade
Attacks: 27/29 Hypnosis, 35/38 Dream Eater
Ghost pokemon deserve special mention. They can't be hit my normal attacks which can throw a twist into the fight. However, beware of their poison type which renders them vulnerable to ground and psychic attacks.
#95 Onix
Type: Rock/Ground
Evolution: none
Attacks: 15 Bind, 19 Rock Throw, 25 Rage, 33 Slam 43 Harden
Here's another non evolver. Onix has one heck of a tough defense, almost as strong as Cloyster's but its attack power is atrocious. Its special is also too low for it to have any chance against special attacks.
#96-97 Drowzee, Hypno
Type: Both are Psychic
Evolution: 26
Attacks: 12 Disable, 17 Confusion, 24 Head Butt, 29/33 Poison Gass, 32/37 Psychic, 37/43 Meditate
In brute force brainpower, Drowzee and Hypno are not as strong as Kadabra and Alakazam but Drowzee and Hypno have a few tricks of their own. In addition to be a bit tougher than the frail Kadabra and Alakazam, these two have the Hypnosis/Dream Eater combo which works like the Sleep Powder/Solar Beam combo. I personally kept losing with it in my few fights with it but many others say its really good so I might be missing something.
#98-99 Krabby, Kingler
Type: Both are Water
Evolution: 28
Attacks: 20 Vice grip, 25 Guillotine, 30/34 Stomp, 35/42 Crab Hammer, 40/49 harden
Kingler's attack power is very good and its defense ain't too shabby either. Its drawback isits water attacks aren't all that powerful.
#100-101 Voltorb, Electrode
Type: Both are Electric
Evolution: 30
Attacks: 17 Sonic Boom, 22 Self Destruct, 29 Light Screen, 36/40 Swift, 43/50 Explosion
Electrode is the fastest pokemon in the game, bar none. Link that with its all too famous Explosion attack and you have a very effective way of eliminating your opponent's most dangerous pokemon since nothing will go before Electrode does unless its up against another Electrode.
#102-103 Voltorb, Electrode
Type: Both are Grass/Psychic
Evolution: Leaf Stone
Attacks: 25 Reflect, 28 Leech Seed, 32 Stun Spore, 37 Poison Powder, 42 Solar Beam, 48 Sleep Powder
Exeggcute should be evolved at level 48 (once it learns sleep powder) into Exeggutor. this walking palm tree is arguably the most powerful grass pokemon in existence. It can be taught to effectively use psychic attacks and its extremely high special gives it a devestating Solar Beam. Its physical stats such as attack, hp and defense are also very good. Definitely an excellent pokemon.
#104-105 Cubone, Marowak
Type: Both are Ground
Evolution: 28
Attacks: (18)Headbutt, 25 Leer, 31/33 Focus Energy, 38/41 Thrash, 43/48 Bonemerang, 46/55 Rage
Both pokemon have good defense but not much else. They've got two unique ground attacks. Not much experience with them.
#106-107 Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee
Type: Both are Fighting
Evolution: don't evolve into each other
Attacks: Hitmonchan: 33 Fire Punch, 38 ice Punch, 43 Thunder Punch, 48 Mega Punch, 53 Counter Hitmonlee: 33 Rolling Kick, 38 Jump Kick, 43 Focus Energy, 48 Hi Jump Kick, 53 Mega Kick
These two don't evolve into each other but they are related. Both are fighting pokemon you have a chance to receive at the fighting gym in Saffron. Hitmonchan is a hair tougher while Hitmonlee is a shade stronger and slightly faster. Hitmonchan however, has a variety of elemental punches such as Thunder Punch and Ice Punch which makes it capable of exploiting a lot of weaknesses while Hitmonlee is more concentrated at taking his strength as far as possible. Jacky Chan is probably better than Bruce Lee.
#108 Lickitung
Type: Normal
Evolution: none
Attacks: 31 Slam, 39 Screech
Normally, a rare pokemon like this has something good about it but I don't see what it is. No comment...
#109-110 Koffing, Weezing
Type: Both are Poison
Evolution: 35
Attacks: 32 Sludge, 37/39 Smokescreen, 40/43 Self Destruct, 45/49 Haze, 48/53 Explosion
Well, these two have high defense but they aren't much for variety. I haven't used them much but I'm fairly certain they stink, both literally and because they suck.
#111-112 Rhyhorn, Rhydon
Type: Both are Ground/Rock
Evolution: 42
Attacks: 30 Stomp, 35 Tail Whip, 40 Fury Attack, 45/48 Horn Drill, 50/55 Leer, 55/64 Take Down
Rhydon is a living tank of a pokemon. It has massive hp, enormous attack and a lot of defense. Physical attacks won't faze this thing and its heavy duty attacks such as Take Down and Hyperbeam if you teach it that will hurt a lot. However, its special and speed are rock bottom.
#113 Chansey
Type: Normal
Evolution: none
Attacks: (12)Doubleslap, 24 Sing, 30 Growl, 38 Minimize, 44 Defense Curl, 48 Light Screen, 54 Double Edge
Well, who though Chansey was such hot stuff? Its got some of the lowest defense, attack and speed in the game but its special is astounding and it just never seems to run out of hp. The best strategy I've seen is minimize to hell before launching an assault with cheap stuff like Toxic and Psychic.
#114 Tangela
Type: Grass
Evolution: none
Attacks: (24) Bind, 29(27) Absorb, (29) Vine Whip, 32 Poison Powder, 36 Stun Spore, 39 Sleep powder, 45 Slam, 48 Growth
Its the only pure grass pokemon so it ought to have some twists to it. Never used it though.
#115 Kangaskhan

#120-121 Staryu, Starmie
Type: Staryu is Water, Starmie is Water/Psychic
Evolution: Water Stone
Attacks: 17 Water Gun, 22 Harden, 27 Recover, 32 Swift, 37 Minimize, 42 Light Screen, 47 Hydro Pump
What can I say? Starmie is one of the most powerful water pokemon of all time. Starmie is extremely flexible at TM learning, capable of learnign attacks like Psychic etc. It scores well in speed, special and defense and it is hard to knock out due to its ability to learn Recover and Minimize. A very useful pokemon in any team.
