| Disclaimer: Fear not, all you goths out there. I have not a thing against you. This is purely a joke, and if anyone is offended I'm sorry. Do not beat my ass down. I might enjoy it...
I don't generally wear black, or listen to loud screaming music. I don't have anything against these things, I just don't do them that often. So why then, might I ask, are the good (gothic) people at Hot Topic copying me?
You're probably wondering, "What the hell is that moron Barb talking about now?" Well, let's look at the evidence. The first time I ever went to Hot Topic, I was OD'd on Sailormoon. I waltzed to the back of the store, and what did I find there? SAILORMOON mangas! SAILORMOON plushies! I thought it was all fine and dandy then, with no knowledge of the up and coming horror that was to ensue...
The next time I went there, I was obsessed with South Park's Timmy. When I went to the back of the store, I saw an electronic wheelchair Timmy! Now I was starting to suspect something, but it all came together on my most recent visit.
This time, when I journeyed to the back of Hot Topic, I saw a whole buttload of Spongebob stuff. Remembering the Spongebob pics I had just taped up on my walls earlier that day, I started to put two and two together. This couldn't all be chalked up to coincidence.
Here comes the real kicker. As you might know, I have recently fallen in love with a cartoon known as "Invader Zim". My friend Lauren informs me that the other day she was informed that Hot Topic was getting a new shipment of INVADER ZIM stuff. Okay, there is something strange going on here other than poop-eating.
So to all you goths and Hot Topic employees, I have nothing against you but...why? WHY? WHY?! If you're watching me right now, know this. I'm onto you! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
UPDATE: When Shampoo moved away last August, I bought her a bunch of presents, including a pen with a dog with an afro on it. The dog's name was "Afro Ken", and it was some obscure Japanese thing. Or so I thought! For yesterday, I went on hottopic.com and found a HUGE advertisement for AFRO KEN! I balked in disbelief and rage! Then I went to Hot Topic and bought an Afro Ken shirt.
FURTHER UPDATE: They've thoroughly copied Aquea Teen Hunger Force now...WHEN WILL THE MADNESS END?!?!?!!
