William married in Lunengberg Co. VA., to Susannah Allen, born in VA., daughter of Robert Allen Jr. of Virginia and North Carolina
When Robert Allen moved to North Carolina, William and his family moved along with the Allen’s. As stated before on Robert Allen’s page, there was a close knit family tie between William Hudson, his brother John Hudson, to Robert Allen. Of course the brothers married Allen sisters, daughters of Robert Allen, but it appeared to be much more than a father-in-law and son-in-law connection.
In Bute Co. NC., Deed Book 3, December, 1768; Robert Allen deeded 200 acres to his son-in-law, William Hudson for natural love and affection and for better support. John Hudson, brother to William and Robert Allen Jr. were witness to the signing.
It is known that Susannah Allen, died before her fathers will was written in 1782, but appears she died before October, 1780 in NC.
October 1780 William deeded to his son Isaac Hudson for good causes and valuable consideration, the land where he lived in Granville Co. and moved to Chatham Co. where some of his other children had moved.
By 1808 William had moved to Hancock Co. GA., and was living with his daughter Elizabeth and son in law, James Simmons. William’s wrote his first will which was recorded in Hancock Co. GA. but never probated. Seven months later he was in Edgefield Co. South Carolina where he wrote a new will, this will was probated in Edgefield Co. in 1813. It appears he was living with his son, Isaac Hudson who was named executor of his last will. Between the two wills his children can be identified.
One thing for sure, when he moved to Ninety Six District, South Carolina other family members were living there. His brother-in-law; Josiah Allen had lived in this area before he died in the Revolutionary. Josiah's oldest son, James married Rebecca Hudsonm daugher of Isaac and a grand daughter of William and Susannah Allen Hudson. This is just another twister to the Allen/Hudson family and could be a reason for William Hudson to move to South Carolina to be near his son or son(s) family.
Named in the first will was:
Lucy Hudson, one dollar
Isaac Hudson, negro; Gloster
Susannah Hudson, his riding horse
Winifred Hudson, one hundred dollars
Allen Hudson, one dollar
Bito (daughter) bed and all furniture, this appears to be Elizabeth, since he moved all his household items to her home and left them there.
In this will his son in law, James Simmons was Executor
The second will was dated 25 October, 1809 and was proved in Edgefield Co. South Carolina District.
Elizabeth Simmons, one feather bed and all household possessions I left with her when I moved from GA.
Susannah Gibson, my riding horse and saddle
Note here that Allen and Lucy were not mentioned. They lived elsewhere and did not live nearby. The daughter Winifred was deceased and the legacy which was previously bequeathed to her was given to her son, Stephen Wilson. There is no mention of Bito Hudson who was named in the first will, she may have died without marrying.
Children of William and Susannah Allen Hudson are:
1. Lucy Hudson, is named in her grandfather Robert Allen's will. she died 25 July, 1825 in Giles Co. TN. She first married Isham Edwards who died in Bute Co. in 1771. In 1775 she married Thomas McKissack

John Hudson, was born 1739 in VA. He married
about 1748 probably in Lunenburg Co, VA., to Elizabeth Allen, daughter of Robert Allen.
It appears that John removed from Virginia when the other family members moved to North Carolina. His Father, and Father in Law both were in the short lived County of Bute when it was formed in 1766 and lasted only thirteen years. John fell into the part of Warren that was created from the discontinued County.
