In the Name of God Amen, I John Haile of the County of Essex and the Parish of Southfarnham being in good health and of soul and of perfect mind and memory praise be therfore given to Almighty God, do make & ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following: that is to say, first and principally I command my soul into the hands of Almighty God hoping through the merits death and passion of my Saviour Jesus Christ to have full and free pardon of all my sins and to inherit eternal Life and my body I commit to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named: And as touching such temporal Estate as it hath pleased God to bestow upon me. I give and dispose thereof as followeth:

First, I will that my debts and funeral charges be paid and discharged;

Francis Haile, John Haile, Thomas Haile, Benjamin Haile & Mary Edmondson, Susanna Allen.

Item: I constitute and appoint my well beloved wife and my beloved son, John Haile, full and wholly Executors to this my last Will and Testament.

Item: I do hereby revoke disannul and make void all former Wills and Testaments by me heretofore made. In Witness whereof I the said Jno. Haile to this my last Will and Testament have set my hand and seal this 17th day of August. In the year of our Lord 1744

At a Court held for Essex County at Tappahannock on the 16th day of October Anno Dom. 1744. This last Will and Testament of John Haile deceased being presented into Court by Mary Haile, the Executrix and John Haile the Executor therein named: who made oath thereto and being also proved by the oath of both witnesses thereto was admitted to Record and is truly recorded.

Susanna Allen is listed as a daughter to John Haile, James Allen and Andrew Allen were witness to the will. Either one of these Allen men could be the spouse to Susanna.
