| It would have been a certainty that on the drive to Griffith, Ryan Prevett would have thought that this week we had to win to keep in touch with the top five. We did.
After a scrappy start by both sides, the game settled down to an arm wrestle all day, until the last 15 minutes, when West Wyalong ran in 4 tries to outlast Waratahs. There were far too many mistakes made by both sides, turning the ball over, missed tackles and missed opportunities. West Wyalong again missed points with some ineffective goal-kicking, only 4 going over from 9 attempts. Still a win is a win and worth 2 valuable points. Best on the day for the Mallee Men were Mick Hopper, Dan Hartnett, Ryan Prevett & Ian Hopper.
