| Match Report - Round 6 vs Yenda |
| Group 20 |
| Season 2003 Grand Final replay. The match started on a high for West Wyalong running in the first 2 tries and leading 12-0, and later 18-6, when fans thought the Mallee Men would certainly take it to Yenda with a half time lead and the strong wind at their backs in the second half. This was not to be. A similar lapse in defence to last week, late in the first half, saw Yenda race in 3 unanswered tries to lead 22-18 at the break. Even so, this was not a bad situation for the boys running with the wind for the next 40 minutes. Yenda showed their class though to extend their lead and put the game beyond doubt, although the Mallee Men fought back it was too late, with Yenda running out winners 52-30. The performance was not all bad though, coach Ryan Prevett being satisfied that the boys showed good commitment for the whole 80 minutes, and if this is constantly repeated for the remainder of the season, West Wyalong will again feature in the play-offs in September. Chris Jamieson reached a point-scoring milestone crossing for 3 tries for the day, taking his personal club points tally to 500.
