Following a Group 20 delegates meeting on Saturday August 21, this game, to finalise the home and away competition, was abandoned.
There has been a number of unsavory incidents at recent games involving the Narrandera club, not only incidents of foul play, but also abusive behaviour by Narrandera players towards referees.
This matter came to a head following the Round 17 clash involving Narrandera and Waratah Tigers. The referee on that day, Willie de Valentin, reported incidents of violent abuse directed at him during and after the game. The Referees Association decided at the Group meeting on Saturday that they would no longer officiate at Narrandera games, which meant the season for Narrandera was closed.
Naturally this meant that West Wyalong�s First & Under 16 grades were without a game and following on from the previous week�s bye, will go into next weekend�s semi finals �underdone�
