Match Report - Round 13
vs Tullibigeal Lake Cargelligo
Group 20
West Wyalong has cemented its position in the top five of Group 20 after a solid win over TLU at Lake Cargelligo on Sunday.

Although the Mallee Men were made to fight hard for the win in a typical Lakes v West Wyalong game, the two points were the highlight of a bitterly cold afternoon.
Although DPC have the bye next week, following that they have to play three of the top 5 sides and could not trouble the current top 5 with West Wyalong sitting in fourth place, and a win next week at home v Yanco Wamoon could see them equal third.

The boys dominated the first half with Captain Coach Ryan Prevett outstanding all over the field. Lakes defence though stood firm and West Wyalong only enjoyed a half time lead of 10-0. It was felt that with a howling gale at the Mallee Men backs in the second half, the game would be played in Lakes territory, but not to be. The Sharks came out firing after half time, as they often do against West Wyalong, and a game was on. A dropped ball over the line, and under the posts, by Lakes that would have leveled the score with less than 10 minutes to go, finished their charge and the Mallee Men raced in two easy tries in the dying moments to come away winners, unimpressively, 28-14.

The boys will no doubt put that one away and concentrate on repeating the efforts of the past weeks v Leeton, & Black & Whites, for next weeks encounter v the Hawks, which should be quite a fiery blockbuster to rattle the grandstand roof at Ron Crowe Oval.
