Professor Dr. Guruswami Siddhar :

Prof. Dr. Guruswami Siddhar is a Doctorate Degree Holder in Civil Engineering obtained from University of Conneticut in USA.  He has been teaching Civil Engineering in Government Engineering Colleges in Tamilnadu for twenty years from 1964 to 1984.  After resigning his job in 1984 he was actively involved in social services and research in social, cultural and political history of Mallar, Kudumbar @ Devendra Kula Velalar community in Tamilnadu.

He has founded and presided over the following Institutions

1.    Devendra Mandram (1989) : An assembly of Scholars of Mallar, Kudumbar @ Devendra Kula Velalar.

2.    Devendra Kula Velalar Sangham (1993) : A state level organisation of Mallar, Kudumbar @ Devendra Kula Velalars formed to organise and educate the people on the history, culture and the present day problems of Mallar, Kudumbar @ Devendra Kula Velalar.

3.    Mallar Malar (Jan. 1995) : A Tamil Monthly Magazine.  In addition to publishing current activities of Mallar, Kudumbar @ Devendra Kula Velalar this magazine has brought out hundreds of evidences from ancient stone inscriptions, copper plate inscriptions, palm leaf inscriptions, tamil literatures to prove that Mallar, Kudumbar @ Devendra Kula Velalars were the rulers of ancient Tamilnadu as Chera Veandhars, Chola Veandhars, Pandiya Veandhars and Irungo Veanmaans and Adhiyamaans.  Devendrars were the people who invented the Rice, Sugarcane, Banana and Palm Seeds and the Ploughing Technology which lead to the civilisation of mankind throughout the world and is known as Rice Culture.

4.      Anaithinthiya Thamizhaga Munnetra Kazhagam (1995) : This is a political party registered with the Election Commission of India.  This party educates Mallars on politics and political theories and the current caste politics of Tamilnadu and India.  Tries to Unite Mallars, Kudumbars @ Devendra Kula Velalars on a political platform.  Caste unity must be converted into political unity to get political status and act as a pressure group.  This party of Mallars has contested elections in 1996 and subsequent elections.

5.    Thamizhar Panpaadu Samooga Aaivu Mandram (1996) : This is a registered Research Foundation.  The members of this Mandram conduct research on the history and cultures of Devendrar.  Also arranges for presentation of research papers and lectures from prominent current researchers, professors, Vice Chancellors, Archaeologists, Tamil Scholars and others on the history and culture of Mallars, Kudumbars @ Devendra Kula Velalars.
