Whoa ... everything was down to the last minute from picking up the Gareth Gates invites @ Serangoon to playing pool with Blue .. well actually that didn't happen. lmao

An evening with Gareth Gates
Uh late late late! Maz dropped me off @ Hereen, picked up another set of invites from Kamal then rushed to meet Harry. We scurried into Rouge Club just on time. We caught our breath, got our fruit juice (can't believe they were NOT serving alcohol b4 9pm!), & had an evening with Gareth Gates ... the performance was light and easy, mostly acoustic but Gareth's bubbly presence bellies an instant recognition of delight from the audience. This was brilliant especially after a hectic afternoon running from the west to the north of the island & getting stuck in Orchard Road CBD mayhem.
Hmmm .. an unplugged version of the happy Sunshine & the poignant 'Say It Isn't So' ... awww it's incredible how songs are like the soundtracks of our lives. For a while i was in my own world. Reminiscing. Contemplating.
By the way, Gareth won Best Male @ the MTV Asia Awards. Hahaha.. Tracy must be thrilled.

Sugababes Showcase
This made up for the Sugababes Brum gig i missed last Summer when i was in Stevenage. Really happy that i got to see them tonight, all thanks to Wee. Luv ya sweetie! After watching the girls tonight, i must make an effort to catch them on their next UK tour, no matter what.
Met KS but no sign of Maz, Josie or Sally hmmm. Apparently they were just an arm's length away from me & in my excitement, i didn't see them waving profusely @ moi. You have to pinch me when im in a club cos im bascially Mutt & Jeff, and a tad myopic. lmao
Mingled a bit in the VIP area only to find old radio colleagues Mario & Kitty Kate, & there's Ramma whom i met a year ago @ no.5. After a few beers, we managed to get upstairs for a private pardeee. By then i was already legless. Had some margarita whilst watching Mutya of Sugababes vs the boys from Blue in a Inferno Tower drinkie challenge. Whoa .. she put them all to shame! Whooohooo.. Spoke to Mutya, she's such a sweetie. Rumour had it that Heidi was spotted snogging someone who looked like Derick McDonald but she & Keisha already left when we got to the pardee.
Met some new friends, Mark, Sinitta & John, Angeline & old chums from the media, good ol' Gary, Keng & Colin. And thanks to Mark, now i'm in lurve with Angelico liqeur .. gimme more shots Mr Bartender! 'Hick'!
All this time Harry was downstairs mopping up the tunes on the dancefloor. Alas! He came upstairs ..but the pardee was over & couldn't believed he missed the Suga girls. What a plonker! |
