

In the tales the wolf stands for something dangerously and awful. He eats up people and animals.
When it's fullmoon he howls so people receives goosebumps. Also in reality are many scared
for the wolf. Most myths and stories about wolves attacking mankind and its domestic animal are
often exaggerated and made up. Ironically enough have the wolf been accused in order to kill people, a
reputation that it least of all deserves. In Northern America exists not a sole evidence in order that an healthy
(non-rabies-ill) wolf would have tried to kill any human being.
SPECIES
· Common wolf. (forests in Europe, Asia), middlelarge, brief dark fur.
· Steppewolf. (steppe and deserts in Central Asia), little, brief, abrasive, grey.
· ”Alaskan” wolf. (Eurasia, America), big, longhair, light-colored fur.
· Easterly forestwolf. (areas with mostly nature), smaller, commonly grey.
· Great Plains- wolf. (extinct), with fur that varies from white- black, once followed the big buffalo-herds across the North American prairie.
PLACES WHERE THEY EXIST:
Forrest, tundra, deserts, plain, mountains.
WHERE THEY ARE:
The wolf existed formerly in big divides of Europe and in the northern parts of
Asia and America. Now it is roughly extinct and exists in just small flocks spread across the already
mentioned area. In Sweden they exists foremost in Lapland, Härjedalen and Värmland, at the border against Norway.
COLORS:
The wolf is commonly yellow-grey with black spots, but bones and abdominal are often light-yellow.
AGE:
8-16 year. Up to 20 in imprisonment
SIZE and WEIGHT:
The wolf is about 140-150 centimeter long and has a tail about 40 centimeter. They are 70-75 centimeter high, at bogen. The females weighs 18-55 kilo, and the males between 20-80 kilo.
REPRODUCING:
The wolves mate themselves in January to March and then the females are pregnant in 62-66 day. She gets between 4-6 puppies in one brood and they are born in the parent's cavity or in another protected place. The puppy's breastfeeds for 6 weeks, but holds themselves to their parents in about a year.
FOOD:
In the summer the wolf eats mostly smaller animals like rodents and birds. In the winter the food consists of bigger
animals like elks, reindeer and sheep's. The wolf often hunts in flocks, but also alone. The wolf can eat quantities at once, but it can also be without food for a long time.

We will be known by the tracks that we leave behind....
SOUND:
The wolf has a growl and howling sound and barks frequently. The sound reminds of the dogs.
