As the Widow on Civil right leader Fred Hampton Sr. Ester found herself with two young sons, one who was out of control and another who she could see would one day walk the came path as his father. She hated giving her son up to his grandmother but she had no choice. She sent night after night wondering where he was. Malik only recently learned her address and while he has attempted to reconnect with her he isn't sure she is ready.
Jazzmond Amber El-Shabazz
Jazzmond was the nurse to Maliks grandmother when they meet. Malik was still in a place in his life where he couldn't love, but her warmth soon changed that. Then when Jazzmond came to him for help with a problem just after his grandmother death, he realized that she was meant to be a part of his life. During his Hajj and early training under Abdul, Malik was forced to choose between his new found place as a student of Abdul in the ways of his Caste and his wife. Malik regret not making it back in time to say good bye but recently seems to have come to terms with his loss.
Malik Andre El- Shabazz
Called by his middle name mostly Andre is the son of Jazzmond and Malik. As a child Andre proved to be more like Malik then one might guess. He seems to have Maliks gift for languages and his need to learn. He also has his mother gift for music and a perfect voice. Badly injured during the car accident that killed his mother Andre recovered suddenly and without reason and is a modern miracle. Since that time he has lived with his grand parents unsure of where his father has been.

Toni as he likes to be called these days was a killer before he shaved his face for the first time. As a troubled teen Toni found himself caught up in the world of Chicago's gangs and drug scene. By the age of 16 he was a well respected member of Chicago's South Side Boys. It wasn't until one night where he was saved by Malik that he began to attempt to change his life. After training with Abdul until his Death Toni now has a direction and purpose as Maliks and his family's protector. As he watches Malik rebuild his world he begins plans to do so himself. Now he finds himself wanting more things from life and trying to truly better himself.

As the sire and mentor of Malik, Abdul was harsh and focused. Now without him Malik seems to find himself lost in a world he still doesn't understand. While Malik knows his sire had other childe he knows nothing of them or their path, he only knows that Abdul trusted only him to protect his libary and in it his works.
