Meet my friend Malikah. She has taught me a lot in the few years that we have been together. Although she is a very sweet natured mare, it took a long time before I felt that she completely trusted me. I'm proud to say that I have earned her trust and love. Malikah has her own ideas about things. I guess we are alike in that sense. She always gives her best effort, and her only fault is that she tries too hard sometimes.
The picture above was taken at our first show together. She had just beaten 23 other horses of all breeds in a huge halter class. Doesn't she look proud of herself?
Malikah had less than 30 days under saddle and was almost 8 years old when I bought her. She had a few physical issues which made her training a challenge. She started to improve after she received some expert chiropractic and dental care. I urge anyone who is having problems with getting their horse to accept the bit to contact an equine dentist.

My
son Neil loves Malikah as well. He's my personal groom and enjoys cooling
her out and brushing her off. She really seems to love kids too.
Sometimes she gives pony rides to a little girl named Alexis.
Normally Malikah is a little "hot"under saddle, but she is always very
calm and careful with Alexis.
