Yellow Carnation

The snow falls all around the bed we used to lie on.
It looks so peaceful now with icicles singing symphonies.
The snowflakes seem to dance through the air like our memories,
and haunting thoughts blow through my mind, chilling me and killing me.

And I still see the yellow of the cheap carnation that you gave to me.
You thought you could salvage us you thought you could still be friends with me.
But a yellow cheap carnation can never make up for all the things you did to me.

Ashes now cover what once used to be our flame.
Slowly they drift away, erasing all we used to be.
And all of the butterflies that used to keep us warm inside
are now just sculptured ice, decorating our lonesome hearts..

And I still see the yellow of the cheap carnation that you gave to me.
You thought you could salvage us you thought you could still be friends with me.
But a yellow cheap carnation can never make up for all the things you did to me.

And now my future's bare, where you used to flower,
weeds of jealously sprung up all around you.
They watered you with hatred, and poisoned all our love.
and now we're wilted and dried, like my yellow carnation

And I still see the yellow of the cheap carnation that you gave to me.
You thought you could salvage us you thought you could still be friends with me.
But a yellow cheap carnation can never make up for all the things you did to me.
