In the world we
live in there are many religions. Each religion has
its own way of conducting marriages. Eventhough the
rituals are different in each religion, the intent is the
same. This page gives the significances the Indian
Hindu Marriage.

India is
a huge country with many religions. Hiduism
is just one of the many religions which the
people of India follow. As vast as the
country is, so is its main religion,
Hinduism. There are many castes and
sub-caste which categorises the people. The pages in this
section reflect the Hindu marriage performed
primarirly by the South Indian Brahmins.
Similarity exists with the marriages performed in
other castes and sometimes there is a lot of
diversification within the same caste.

As a note,
the primary information in the pages were from a pamplet
distributed by a non-profit organization in India.
I got it from my parents on a recent visit to
India. These were cut and pasted into our wedding
album to educate us and our friends on the various
rituals.
