Virtual Shrine of Sri Raghavendra Swami

Sri Raghavendra Swami's shrine is not installed at the Malibu Temple but I wanted to add this as personal addition due to my immense faith in this great saint.  This is the same saint who has been widely worshiped in Karnataka and now recently in parts of Tamilnadu (two states in India).  He has been greatly promoted by two famous cine personalities - Rajkumar and Rajnikanth, from Karnataka and Tamilnadu.

Sanku Karna, a divine messenger, used to bring flowers for the daily puja or Sri Maha Vishnu by Lord Brahma.  Once when he was late, Lord Brahma got angry and cursed him to be born among demons.  Sanku Karna, who was grief stricken, prayed to Vayu Deva (Lord of the Winds) who blessed and consoled him that he will have his blessings and benediction of Sri Maha Vishnu.  Sanku Karna was of couse reborn among demons but as Prahalada (the boy who had Maha Vishnu's blessing and invoked Sri Maha Vishnu's 4th avatar of Lord Narasimha to kill his arrogant father demon Hiranyakasipu).

Before his birth as Sri Raghavendra, Sanku Karna was born as Sri Vyasaraja, also a great saint, in 1437.  He also performed many similar miracle to Sri Raghavendra, authored three important and unique works in Dwaita philosophy among several others.  He attained mukthi at the age of 92 in 1529.  His brindavan stands near Hampi by the river Tungabhadra know as the "Nava Brindavan".

Hinduism has three different beliefs based and developed from the Vedas:
1. Advaita philosophy - founded by Sri Adi Sankara gives prominence to Lord Shiva,
2. Visishtadvaita philosophy - founded by Sri Ramanuja gives prominence to Sri Maha Vishnu and
3. Dwaita philosophy - founded by Sri Madhwacharya give prominence to Sri Maha Vishnu.

Sri Raghavendra Swami was a disciple of Sri Madhwacharya, preaching the Dwaita philosophy.  Sri Raghavendra Swami was born in Bhuvanagiri as Venkatanath, in state of Tamilnadu.  He was a great scholar, he was a family man but later took up sanyasa to head the Sri Matt and do puja to the Moola Rama deity.  He entered live into brindavan and blesses his devotees from there.  His brindavan is located in the City of Mantralaya in Andra Pradesh.  More info can be obtained from the links below.
