I bought this silver and gray 1987 El Camino Conquesta in June 2001.  It was 99% original with only 57k miles. This El Camino was in storage for about eight years. When I bought it, it had the original: unused spare tire and jack, GM floor mats, hoses, belts, shocks, exhaust, and Delco Freedom battery. The gray cloth bench seat, gray interior, door panels, and dash are in perfect condition.  The bed had been covered since new. It is an El Camino for only the summer months. I've decided to put it in storage in the garage for the bad weather months.

It has a stock LG4 305ci motor with a Rochester E4ME Quadra-jet carburetor. The transmission is a 200-4r.  Since buying it, I have replaced the transmission cross member with a double hump cross member from crossmsmbers.com and installed a custom two and a half inch dual exhaust complete with dual catalytic convertors (Rhode Island has it's smog nazis).  I've also installed a MCSS rear sway bar and a MCSS 115 MPH speedometer and tachometer.  I've upgraded the radio from a stock AM/FM to the best Delco stereo/cassette/equalizer that was available in 87. I took off the original Rally rims and put on the BFG 235/65/15 tires and IROC rims from my 79 El Camino. Lastly, I installed a new GM NOS grill and headlight bezels.

The bridge in the background is the Pell Bridge (formerly the Newport Bridge) crossing the east passage of Narragansett Bay from Jamestown to Newport, Rhode Island.  It's the same bridge that's on the 2001 Rhode Island State Quarter.
